Ok if you renember i am having my counter tops done in the new formica thats looks like granite.Well they have done the tops & i love them butttttttttt all my appaliance are white except my stove top is in my island it is a black/gray color
that has a rim around it that was white & the glass cutting bord has a metal rim around it all both is mounted in the island.Well over the 12 yrs i had scrap some of the white off the stove rim from cleaning it so i didn't wont that with my new tops so i sent it out to be painted alone with the glass block rim.Well i thought it would look real good black sa the tops have black in them.Well when they put the stove & all back in i look & said omg all my applainces are white why did i do them black.I was sick after i had spent all that money. So here are some pic tell me what you think pleaseeeeeeee.

I dont think it looks bad.I love your new counter tops and the design of them. They are perfect.I'm drooling over your new kitchen.

I believe several board memembers here have sprayed painted there frigs.Just pull it out,put it in an open area outside and spray that baby black.I think SonnyDayz did hers. You dont even have to get the special appliance paint either,Krylon paint will work wonders. Now the stove and microwave will be an issue about painting.

I think the 'newness' is shocking no matter what you choose.

I think jackierenette is right. The shock is that 'you are not done' when you thought this last project would do it all.

What you have done so far looks good! Just don't quit now.

I think the stove top and glass cutting board would have had too much contrast with your new countertop had you bought them in white. So black was the way to go.

I agree w/ the others especially the shock of the newness. I also feel that white and black can work harmoniously if they are scattered around the room in equal proportions. Celebrate your new kitchen and enjoy it in good health for years to come.

I love your new countertop. We are in the process of re-doing our kitchen also. I had looked at granite but just can't justify the cost at this time. I picked up a brochure on laminate counters at HD, do you mind saying what your pattern is? Our cabinets are the 70's oak which I can't make myself paint and we are going with stainless appliances since we've had white for almost 20 years. The colors in your pattern look like they would work well with the cabinets and new appliances.

Thanks Jeanette! The pamphlet I have from Home Depot has 3 different grades of the laminate-assuming the highest grade is the most expensive.

I think the kitchen looks great. The black on the island looks very good, white would be just too much. I would not change color of the other appliances. They look fine the way they are. I have thought that I would use laminate
if I planned to redo a kitchen. There are many companies now that make it. Years ago it was just FORMICA.
DO NOT FRET! Your kitchen looks great!!

Jeanette,

The black looks fine with the counters. Love the long expanse of counters that you have in your kitchen.

How long is the whole length of counter on the sink side please?

Geez, girl you have a huge kitchen! I wish I had all that counterspace! The new Formica has white in it too from what I can see, it goes great with your appliances.

I think it looks good, I wouldn't paint the refrigerator black as suggested by someone since your kitchen is pretty dark already. I think you're going to end up being very happy it's not white and showing up every little mark or dirt. Good mistake!!!
