DS is looking for a new sofa, possibly a sectional, a plus would be a recliner for watching TV and something that's well made and cushions will hold up. Any recommendations?

He saw a Clark sectional by Lazy Boy. I don't know anyone that has that mfr. How does Lazy Boy hold up? Here's an ad pic of it:

I have 2 Lazy Boy chairs, not recliners, just chairs, and I love them. I searched everywhere for 2 LR chairs and the Lazy Boy store was the last one I went to. They are not used by kids, just adult entertaning in the LR, as when grandkids come they use the FR, so as to holding up I rea;ly can't say,,just that they are very comfortable chairs. I have a Lane recliner im MBR and I really don't find it allthat comfy. IMO comfort is the most important thing in sofas and chairs, even if you don't sit in them every day. So go to store and take a book, or i-pad or something and sit a while in what you wnat to purchase-

grades of the apolstery fabric are most important in deciding what to get.

So far no DGC's so it'll just be adults sitting. But it's their main room for TV watching, so they will need something that can last a while, especially the cushions.

A friend's very recent experience with laz-y-boy prompts me to give you the following advice....

Make sure you see the "actual piece" you will be purchasing. I wouldn't look at a piece and have them order and deliver it without seeing it first.

I hear ya, Annie. they have an Art Van's near them, so they can at least sit on some of the styles. And there is a gallery about an hour away from them.

p.s. I've never been a fan.
(but young people sometimes think the price range makes more of a difference)

We have a Lazy Boy sofa, chair, and two recliners and love them. We are on the plus side in size and have 5 grandchildren who are here frequently and the furniture holds up well. I find it all comfortable and reasonably priced. We have had two previous recliners and a sofa from them that also stood the test of time and one is still in use in a friends family room. Just be sure of your selection. My dil ordered a sofa and chair and once it arrived hated the way it looked in her living room but since it was a special fabric order they had to pay a re-stock fee of some kind to return the furniture. All the pieces I have are in stock fabrics that don't cost extra.

I have had many La-Z-Boy items and have been happy with the quality. However, you may want to check carefully for I think that they are no longer made in the USA.

I have owned several of their pieces over the years and have felt they were very good quality.
I only sold them when we re-decorated, not because they wore out. I highly recommend them (and so does Brooke Shiel*ds, LOL)

Ah, thank you everyone...I'll pass it on to them. They do have nice styles. And since Brooks S "likes" them, I guess that's all they need!!!
