Would someone please tell me what you would put between these two items?? I am lost as to what color will go. I found a beautiful old leather trunk, but don't know if the darker brown will go with the lighter wood of the media center and the grey sofa. Here are pics of the sofa and media center.

Please HELP!

And here is the sofa across from the media center.

Funny, when I look at the pics separately even those two pieces don't look like they go together. . but in the room they look nice. Just FYI. . .I am going for a modern/vintage style. I have a green vase with a purple flower that has been the inspiration in this room. .so far the purple is in the pillows and the green is in the media center.

Clearly I am lost! LOL

my first thought is a glass topped coffee table of some sort.

Well, I have 3 small children and really don't like the idea of having a glass table in the living room. That was the first reason I was leaning towards the ottoman idea. . it's durable and injury proof.

But what color? Then I found this beautiful trunk, but i just don't think a dark brown would work. So it brings me back to the ottoman. . .what fabric would I put on it (I will most likely be turning an old coffee table into an ottoman so will be able to pick my own fabric.)

If you choose to make a custom ottoman, I would choose a patterned fabric that uses a mix of your colors. A patterned fabric doesn't show soil and wear as much as a solid fabric does. I also think having a pattern will help pull your room together.

Glass tables help to make a room larger.
But try to find one where the glass sets down in a metal frame. That cuts down on the edges of the glass chipping, & also someone getting hurt.
I had one with metal edge for 20 years. When I moved I gave it to my GD. It had a bronze color frame, so went with just about anything.

If you decide to go with the ottoman, here is a place to check out fabrics. I bought 3- dif ones. Two were chenille, great price & quality.
One was a upholstry velvet/leopard.

I like the idea of an oval shaped ottoman covered in a pattern that ties in all your colors - nice to put your feet up on also.

Not sure how much space you have between the sofa and entertainment or the sizes of the sofa and console. You'd have to find a table that was the proper scale to those also.

I would go for something simple in style for the coffee table. The ones I am posting may be out of your price range, not sure but I'm posting them just to give you ideas.
