Yesterday I was trying to clean out behind our storage shed and I found some sheets of plexiglass. I remembered that I had once had the idea of fastening these to a folding screen frame I have in the basement, and then (or actually first) decoupaging the plexiglass. My question is about the background color. I would consider either black or white. Don't know what images I would use but based on how I usually work it would probably be a mixture of images rather than just say flowers. Here are two examples of black and white backgrounds. ![]()

I think black looks richer and has more depth, but of course white makes things pop! (bet this is the first time you ever heard that word LOL) The screen has four panels and is about 5 feet or higher and probably would end up being wider. Opinions? ![]()

I prefer the black background too Emily but where will you be putting it? I think it would be helpful to see the room it would be going in. The dark would be more dramatic looking. Just curious, what do you clean your plexiglass with? In an apt. I had in a 100 yr old house once, the owner put plexiglass in a couple of the windows. I washed them with windex and it ruined them. I didn't know. ****Look at objects not only for what they are, but for what they could be, vg****

its a screen so it can go anyplace. I never have cleaned plexiglass. I'll ask DH he made a cover for a model of the Santa Maria he made out of plexiglass.

Plexiglass can safely be cleaned with liquid Lighter Fluid. Of course if it is the painted side, you don't want to use anything that would damage the paint. I did lettering on clear Plexi signs, and lighter fluid worked great to clean and remove any adhesive residue.

I also found this today for your other 'project' the stairs! Source: thedecorativepaintbrush.blogspot.com via Jenny on Pinterest How fun would it be to stencil the kick plate of your stairs to match your blue and white dishes! I like your screen idea too! Love this: Source: habituallychic.blogspot.com via Jenny on Pinterest Sorry didn't mean to highjack your thread! This message has been edited. Oh, yes my stairs, Mary Ruth! The bane of my existence! I'm leaning towards a painted runner idea. Now just need energy, and impetus! Those are beautiful patterns on the risers. make me think of rugs rather than dishes!
