Any plans?

I've always wanted to go see SW Florida. I was there 25+ years ago... any thoughts, hints, experiences, etc.?

I live 6 months a year in the Ft Myers area. Naples, Sanibel Island, the Ford Edison winter estates, beautiful beaches, many conservancy area where you can see the nature up close are all close by. Just pick a central location and go from there. Just book early.

My husband and I and another couple spent a week at Grayton Beach on the panhandle. Loved every minute of it. Great place...beautiful beaches and lots of restaurants to sample! Also a centrally located community from which to plan plenty of day trips.

In general, the waters are more calm than the rough Atlantic.

There used to be a ferry that ran to Key West. Talk about a shortcut!!!

Other posters mentioned things we also enjoyed.

You will love SW Florida. The beaches there are beautiful. Sanibel Island is my favorite place there.

How funny! I kept wondering what the title meant. As a frequent typo maker, I can usually figure it out, but yours had me stumped for some reason.

It took me days to figure it out. I thought there was some sort of voting on the destination that hadn't been explained!
