I've always wanted to go see SW Florida. I was there 25+ years ago... any thoughts, hints, experiences, etc.?
Do you mean Sarasota? I was there at age 32 and it was GREAT!!!! I loved being the youngest woman around!!!! Seriously, it was great.
I live 6 months a year in the Ft Myers area. Naples, Sanibel Island, the Ford Edison winter estates, beautiful beaches, many conservancy area where you can see the nature up close are all close by. Just pick a central location and go from there. Just book early.
My husband and I and another couple spent a week at Grayton Beach on the panhandle. Loved every minute of it. Great place...beautiful beaches and lots of restaurants to sample! Also a centrally located community from which to plan plenty of day trips.
Treasure Island is nice, off the coast of Tampa
In general, the waters are more calm than the rough Atlantic.
There used to be a ferry that ran to Key West. Talk about a shortcut!!!
Other posters mentioned things we also enjoyed.
You will love SW Florida. The beaches there are beautiful. Sanibel Island is my favorite place there.
Darn... I goofed!!! The title should have been VACAY TIME!!!! I didn't proof read, did I?
Thanks for all the responses...
How funny! I kept wondering what the title meant. As a frequent typo maker, I can usually figure it out, but yours had me stumped for some reason.
It took me days to figure it out. I thought there was some sort of voting on the destination that hadn't been explained!
lol..been to ft Meyers once..my dd insisted on a destination wedding...i'm afraid I didn't care for fla, but did like the beach on Sanibel island...wasn't able to fully enjoy with all the prep, ect...
Color me Embarrassed!!! ...and to think I was a professional secretary!!!!
