The quake was in the southern part of the state, near where Lady of Shallot lives. My brother's family felt it in Gorham. My nephew felt it at UNH in Durnam, NH. No damage, just a lot of noise and shaking. We are too far up the coast to have felt it. I hope Emily checks in soon.

yes, we were eating dinner when it hit. Sort of like waves for 5 or 6 seconds. at first it felt like a heavy truck rumbling by but then you knew it was an earthquake. DGD also felt it at Bowdoin.

DD wanted to know if any of my china fell off the wall!

Mary Anne, my friend tells me they experienced one in Bar Harbor. Do you remember that one?

Welcome to life in California! It's good to hear there was no damage. They can be scary the first time you experience one, especially if it's a very strong one. After awhile, you recognize the sound of one coming even before it starts shaking.

Yes, Emily, we had a few mild ones in BH in 2006. The first one was early in the morning. We thought it was our furnace. An after shock happened while we were in school. There was more noise, but very little shaking. I was in the shower for the third one and I got out quickly!
