Hi: I always come here when I am stumped design wise - so please give me your advice once again. I admit my kitchen is a bit of a hodge-podge and unfortunately will have to stay that way as my youngest will be a high school senior in the fall and is way too expensive of a kid! Anyway....Due to necessity, I need to purchase a new kitchen faucet and I'm stumped on the finish. Appliances are black, cabinets are dark oak w/no handles. Sink is ivory. Help!

I love my brushed chrome. I like it better than the usual shiny chrome, which needed much more attention to look pretty. Hope you can afford at least a pull-out faucet, and better yet, one of those high-arcing, pull-out faucets. I can't remember what I was filling with water, but I was sorry that I didn't get one of those higher curved ones.

Brushed chrome or brushed nickel finish seems to work well for me too and not stand out too much. The brushed or softer patina is better at not showing water spots too, should that be an issue.

Brushed finish by all means. CA Lori, I deliberately chose not to get a faucet with a pull out sprayer because I read that they are prone to have problems--I assume that means the "pully outy feature" either breaks or doesn't work at all. I am happy that I chose a high arcing faucet, though.

I don't know if you have an IKEA near you but they have very inexpensive faucets -- I got a high arch one (but it is shiny chrome -- not brushed but that is what I wanted so I'm not sure of the other finishes)and it doesn't have a pull out sprayer either . . . because when my Mom moved into a house in the 50's with an "up to date" kitchen, it had a sprayer -- which she would never use because it would "break" . . . and when we moved again that sprayer never got used because it would "break" so I've lived my life without a sprayer and I don't miss them! I had them at a couple of houses but didn't use them (because they might break) and when we put in our sink and new faucet a sprayer wasn't even given a second thought.

I would worry about problems with a pull out -- and if they were very expensive then the cost of replacing it so I, too, would stay away from that kind of faucet.

But, do, check IKEA -- and you maybe can do that online -- they are most reasonable!

I have close to the same colors in my kitchen --off-white walls, mirror black and white appliances and stainless sink. Here is what I just ordered to be installed in 2 weeks with my new stellar night quartz countertops:
Moen Arbor #7294CSL which is a stainless steel.
I have used a pull-out forever in 3 different homes and never had any problem with breakage. Either have any friends I have polled.
You really cannot go wrong with any of your choices. It should really be determined upon your taste and the one that pleases your eye the most.

Once again I have tried to show a picture of it from the url and nothing ever posts for me anymore.
What can I suddenly be doing wrong that I never did before?
I can no longer show paint colors, etc.

I just bought a Moen "Annabelle" It's brush Stainless Steel. I think it would look great with your finishes too.

Thank you all. I've looked at a few and I like the appearance of the brushed chrome and nickel, lingered at the stainless, and totally ruled out the ivory (which I currently have) and ORB. Time to make a decision...I'm off to Home Depot, Lowes, and Ikea...Yippee! Thanks again for the suggestions...I appreciate the comments and guidance
