My new, black, oval dining table was delivered this week and it's sitting in my dining "nook" (I have a small condo). I'm narrowing down my paint colors (the walls will be gray-blue) and it's time to finally order dining chairs, which I've been holding back on because I can't make up my mind.
So, since there's so much great advice around here, I thought I'd see what you all think.
The chairs I'm debating between are all upholstered. At first, I was going to do a blue pattern, but now I'm thinking it's took much "blue on blue" and am thinking of doing a simple white or cream fabric.
What do you think? White/cream or blue?

Do you have a pic of the table? Is the first one leather? I would think the chairs would have to be at the same scale as the table. Size would definitely matter.

I would go with cream, either 1 or 2. Either would work as extra chairs in the LR if you should ever need that. They would be beautiful with a print table runner. Annie
I'll have to take a pic later and post...it's a simple, small table for a small space.
The first chair is in a "silk and poly blend" and it's from Z Gallerie. I just found it this morning and it's $200 less than the 2nd chair, which is my favorite.
Joyce, you're totally right about scale...the 2nd chair is the smallest and I think it will be best. The cost is getting to me. I can't even post the cost because it's a lot.
The other problem is that #1 and #3 are sold by companies that have brick and mortar stores in my area. #2 is from Ballard, which only has stores in Ohio and Georgia. So, I can't sit in the Ballard chair to judge how comfy it is.

I can do white, but I'm not sure I can trust my boyfriend with it. Perhaps I need a plastic cover, grandma style, for my boyfriend.
ALL, thanks so much for all these comments. I take so long to "pull the trigger" on big purchases and the more I stare at the options, the less decisive I become.

Z Gallerie - evil site! Too many pretty things to tempt me. I knew I'd like it - just by the chair you posted. Love the gazebo on the opening page! Ahhhh.
Two looks great! My next choice would be #3. Something about the top of #1 bothers me. Maybe it is the flared corners of #1. #3 is similar to #2's top and would look great if you have that shower curtain laid over it for people like you boyfriend and me! I'd be afraid to sit in anything white/cream and have a red sauce; especially with that pretty tucked back!
Have you bought upholstered furniture from Ballard? Just wonder if it is up to the cost they place on it? Their catalog is very enjoyable!

I love all the chairs and the table too. Chair # 1 seems to have a pretty definite cast to its color, I would be concerned with match up to paint color. They are all great though and I doubt you will go wrong with any of the choices. BTW I have a friend who swears by a white rag and hot water to clean everything. . . I have tried this on upholstered furniture and it does work!

lady, how soon do you apply the white rag and hot water? I am surprised to hear about this as I had always thought the hot might set the stain!

This is killing me! I love the look of both #1 and #2 for different reasons. I just calculated the cost for buying four chairs of each...option #1 is $1,000 less than option #2.
I'm actually considering the drive to the nearest Z Gallerie, which is a bit of a trip. Hmmm...

I know it will be great with what ever you decide.. I had to laugh at the boyfriend comment though... they make bibb for adults too.. even ones with trays...I happened on them when my mother's health was failing.. she loved the idea.. she wasn't about to let that piece of cheesecake get away from her!!!
Can't wait to see what you decide!!!

The chairs are all beautiful. There doesn't seem to be that much difference in them, so I would go with the less expensive and save several hundred dollars. Whatever you choose the table and chairs are stunning!

One thing you might do is have slipcovers made of a waterproof fabric to use when you actually serve dinner and people are sitting in the chairs. OR find some kind of stainproofing that is foolproof.'
