This one may or may not be appropriate...."I want to be an outrageous old woman who never gets called an old lady. I want to get leaner & meaner, sharp edged & earth colored, till I fade away from pure joy."

**If life gives you lemons, put them in a pretty bowl and use it as a centerpiece!**

I have a son with mental disabilites and I just had this made up for his room.

"Clear your mind of can't" Samuel Johnson

whatever you choose, I suggest making it a simple meaningful statement that the ladies can understand.

"Trees may grow on top of the mountain, but beautiful flowers can be found in the valley.
--------------------------------------------- Regardless of where you are today, something wonderful is awaiting you, you need only to seek it out.
--------------------------------------------- Beautiful things hide in uncommon places."

We've used these all as one quote in a women's shelter in town. We put it at the top of the wall in the form of a border around the room. My friend broke them down into 3 quotes and put them in different rooms of the at-risk adolescence center she works in. We just made it up.

Another I put in the common area of the women's shelter, on a blank wall of cork was "Do you know your own strength?" Each week, the women were required to write something good about themselves on paper, and pin it to the cork wall. They never remove any of the papers. They are layered all over the wall, several pages deep. It's incredible how that one little quote encourages the women to think about themselves in a different way. AND, I can only imagine the encouragement it gives the new women as they come into the shelter, to see all of the positive things that the previous women discovered about themselves while there.

We had a faux painter paint all of it on the walls. Wish I had known about the wall words back then!

ETA: That wall was 41' long x 9' high!

I've saved hundreds of quotes and posted more but apparently there are trigger words I can't figure out. So they may or may not turn up. One more:

May your troubles be less, May your b_lessings be more, May nothing but happiness come through your door!

Here are some longer in_spirational words which may be useful in another way.

    This Day
"This day is a special day, it is yours. Yesterday slipped away, it cannot be filled anymore with meaning. About tomorrow nothing is known. But this day, today, is yours, make use of it. Today you can make someone happy. Today you can help another. This day is a special day, it is yours." Author Unknown
