Have seen many inspiration photos of things done with old window frames. I have 2 old wood window frames, and would like to do something for outdoor art,, like to hang of a fence. Any ideas of what could be done that would hold up to an outdoor environment?

I have seen old window frames hung from a patio, balcony or pergula to simulate an outdoor/indoor space. Some, have been configured to support flower boxes if color/fragrance/texture is desired. Some are used to create a porch or patio table top w/ glass laid atop them. Others have been used indoors as pot racks, so why not suspend votives or lanterns from similarly hung window frames over a patio?

If your windows are unfinished, then use a good water sealer on them.
You will have to check the frame after each season to see which time of the year is the roughest for you. Also you may consider taking them inside during the winter as ice in the cracks of the frame will stretch and separate the wood.

The frames would last longer with an overhead protection from direct sun and rain.

I like the ones that have mirror instead of glass so that they reflect the greenery and flowers.
