Summer's last bouquet Sign In/Join
posted
Although technically we still have several weeks of summer left, in Maine days are much shorter and cooler and heavier covers are needed at night.

Winters and falls are long here, spring is late in coming and it really is July before much of summer kicks in.

On labor day we were out for a drive and stopped to pick a bouquet at our town "pick your own bouquet" place. So many on here were talking about fall colors that I decided to stick with them.

Only the brown eyes Susans are from our yard.

Pretty! Your weather is such the opposite of ours...101 today I think...September is always the hardest month to get through, as I long for fall but summer lingers on!

Summer lingers here through September too. Will be mid 90's tomorrow, we have had great mid 80's through last half of August.
I have no flowers growing yet in the yard, but we got some of the last produce before we plant for Fall and winter harvests.

Here is my bouquet of veggies! I pick herbs too but have processed them all through the dehydrator. We have had more rain, and soon I will be drying Oregano, Thyme, Basil (great repeat crop this year), Italian Parsley, Stevia and Celery leaves.

LOS, Nice to have a brown eyed Susan display, I used to put them in my house too in Massachusetts. I always grew Daisies too.

Beautiful flowers! I love fall because I don't like the heat, but do get sad in a way to see summer go because I don't like the cold weather either. I guess I'm baby bear, I like it just right Smile

The flowers, juxtaposition-ed with the clocks; there has to be a poem in that...!
