Sigh -- I've been nowhere and got nothing! Looking forward to what everyone else has found, however!

Hi Skyler,

Seems like everyone is a sleepy head this morning so hopefully this will get us started. Thanks for the MMF thread again!

Finally found a dough bowl. Added a piece of greenery and almost ready for Christmas! Shh!

This little fellow followed me home last week too. Our doggie loves to watch the squirrels in our yard. This one won't run away! LOL.

The dough bowl is wonderful and that cute squirrel would sure have come home with me if I had found one like him!

I found a 45 piece set of Holiday Tradition china, which I really did NOT need. However it was $11.25 for the entire set, so it came home with me because I absolutely could not pass up a deal like that, LOL!!

Also, been picking up lots of Halloween decor.

TTFN,
Candy

Beau's Rose,
Love that dough bowl! and it looks like a great start for the Holiday season ahead! The squirrel is adorable!

Christmas Candy,
With a name like yours, seems like all Xmas stuff just finds you! How could you leave that beautiful set for only $11.25? You stole that!

As for ME:
We started watching a Siberian Husky! The gal my husband works with needs the dog watched till April or until she closes on a house. She looks a lot like Kiska one of our Siberian Huskies we had in Virginia. This little gal is only 42 lbs, is 5 years old and we are smitten! She is a great, calm, smart dog. And we are enjoying her so much!

Mary Ruth what a beautiful dog!

Beau's Rose; you got two terrific finds. Where did you get the squirrel figure? That dough box looks very old!

Christmas Candy, who could have passed up that lovely set of china? That was a steal.

We had a find Friday night but not such a happy one. When we drove into our driveway we saw a fox in the back yard. Being scaredy cats we came in by the front door (had forgotten to leave a light in the back) although I think the fox was more scared but you never know. . . thinking of rabies!

lol Martha, I got nothing either.

Hi Beau's Rose, you're right we're a little slow this week. Thank you for getting us started. What a pretty arrangement you've made. I confess....I've never even heard of a dough bowl. See, you've taught me something.

Your squirrel is cute! Glad your doggie likes him too.

Christmas Candy, what a pretty set AND a great price. Will you be hosting Christmas? If so, you're all ready. Thanks for sharing.

Mary Ruth, what a beautiful girl! So sweet of you and DH to dog sit. I bet you won't want to give her back Smile I know you said she is calm but are Siberian Huskies normally very active? Like to run and jump?

MaryRuth, How sweet of you to dogsit and she looks like a real sweetheart!

Skyler, I do host Christmas. I have the entire family for a meal when we do our gift exchange, and a brunch on Christmas morning.

8 settings is not enough for the family meal, but would work for the brunch.

The china was priced at $14.99, but with my senior discount, it reduced the cost to $11.25.
Woohoo!

TTFN,
Candy

I was away from the computer yesterday. I hated having to delay my weekly MMF visit.

Beau's Rose, I love what you did with the dough bowl. It looks like perfect winter decor. The squirrel and acorn are adorable.

Mary Ruth, that is a beautiful dog. I love the first picture because it looks like she is telling the flamingo to stop following her.

Christmas Candy, I would have had a hard time walking away from that set, too. I like the holly based designs because they seem appropriate to use throughout winter rather than just for Christmas.

Lady of Shallot, I've never seen a fox, but I have been closer than I wanted to be to a coyote. I hope that fox was disease-free and not a frequent visitor to your yard.

I changed out the filler in my apothecary jars to faux pumpkins and gourds, but I didn't take a picture as they aren't particularly creative or exciting looking.

LOS, you're right, the fox was probably more afraid of you than you of him.

Gracie, we would love to see your apothecary jars. Sounds like you're all set for Fall and Halloween.

LOS, Catie, Thanks.
Yes Dakota is beatiful and so loving. She reminds so much of our Kiska (Hukies we rescued in Virginia). She is intuitive and learns very fast.

Dakota is a calmer type Husky. She is a self-regulater, which means she exercises herself by runing in circles in the yard, Peter takes her for walks and in the house she 'tells' us what she wants. She eats small amounts and watches her weight herself! LOL We have learned her signals and tones already. She tells us when she wants to go out. And one day I tapped on the window to call her back in, now she comes to the window and taps on it with her paw. She has a tone for asking for a snack, and she naps in the afternoon. IF her new doggie buddy goes out in the yard next door, she needs to go out and visit with him (he is a Corgi), the neighbors think it is so sweet the way they visit each other.

We told the owner 'what happens if we love her and don't want to give her back'? She said 'I would let you keep her because I would know she had a good home'.! That is so nice. But the reason we did this is because we were not sure if we wanted another Husky because of the work involved. But this was a natural fit for us since we have owned Huskies in the past and know what they are like and understand them.

Gracie,
I thought the same thing! I laughed and took the photo! She was talking to the plastic Flamingo! LOL

Dakota's owner has done a great job training her and she is so sweet and listens to us. We communicate with her and tell her what we want her to do, and she cooperated soon after we had her with us. She checks on us during the night and sleeps in the pathway to the hall that leads to the bedrooms. The other night she started talking and we figured out she was telling us to go to bed...it was the usual bedtime and she noticed we were not going yet. LOL How cute... she does things to amaze me all day long! She is great company.

Even when we give her back to her family, I think we WILL rescue a Husky and will contact the Husky rescue farms in the area (I saw you can ask for a certain type, color and temperament, and if they can match with us). So, no puppies for us, too energetic. Dakota is 5 yrs old so she is no longer a puppy and well trained. Sure makes it easier to watch over her.

Fun Finds Everyone!

Skyler, This one was found at a local shop. They had bins of them in the back room. Some with iron straps on repairs. They even offered to darken it with some wax any time. I made 4 trips there before bringing one home.

Candy, What a deal on the dishes. You will have lots of fun with your tablescapes with all those pieces.

Mary Ruth, She looks like an elegant lady (dog). Glad you are able to "sit" her for a while. It's such a pleasure when they are so well-behaved. I love her story too.

Lady, Oh no, watch for that fox. Hope he doesn't keep coming around so close to you. The little squirrel is one of the small gift items from PB this year. It's a salt and pepper set.

Gracie, Thanks! Love those jars and will have to look for one soon. So many decorating things to put in them!

Mary Ruth, my friend's Westie is also determined about her meal and bedtime schedule and lets you know if you are running behind schedule. She gets so disgusted when you ignore her and eventually will go to bed by herself if you refuse to mind her commands and stay up late. LOL!

OH how cute Gracie!

I had a few other dog breeds in my lifetime, but Siberian Huskies seem to be the ones who steel my heart at present.

I love hearing stories like this, thanks for sharing!

We were amazed at how fast this dog, Dakota, adapted to us. The Huskies we adopted in Virginia were 3 & 6 yrs old when we got them and were escape artists, and Kiska took a while to adapt to us... was testing us for a long time, but eventually became part of our 'pack'.

Love the dough bowl. I just recently got one for my dining table and I just love it. I'm liking primitive country type stuff so I'd love to have a bunch of them. LOL
