What color mixer? Sign In/Join
posted
Hi all! I am doing my kitchen in aqua blue accessories, but I don't want overkill. I would like to get a new mixer and since it's October, the kitchenaids are out in pink. What do you think? I like aqua blue because you can do so many other colors with it, yellow, red, pink, purple, green. Do you think I should get the pink (it won't always be displayed on the counter) or go with the blue or even white or the stainless) I like something fun. Thanks Smile

I say, if you love the look and want a feminine look then go for it. Do what makes you happy.

For me, I like to change things out too often so I try to keep things I'll have for a long time in a basic color. I love different and bold though.

Maybe this will help. I found this online.

"Using Turquoise with Other Colors:

Keep the soft, feminine qualities going by mixing turquoise with lavender and pale pinks.

A bright turquoise and pink create a sparkly clean, retro look.

Make it art deco by pairing turquoise with white and black.

Turquoise with gray or silver as well as terra cotta and light browns have a Southwestern (U.S.) flavor.

Turquoise with orange or yellow creates a fresh, sporty look."

I like white and stainless because the mixer will last much longer than my current decorating scheme. I really loved the glossy black version for myself, but decided to go with one of the stainless/gray versions because I know I probably won't want black in my next kitchen.

Thanks for the replies! That was helpful info you posted, victoriangirl. I have contemporary style with a touch of shabby chic mixed in, so if I went with what you posted, the pink it is! For some reason the pink and blue just seems happy and fun when it comes to baking!

If kept on display, use a bit more pink around the room to tie it all together along w/ chrome and white (or black).
