I lived in Massachusetts during Blizzard of 78 when we got 27" of snow almost overnight, in late February 35 yrs ago! So I can relate to the 'unreal' feeling you get after you see how much snow there is when you can peek outside!

Mary Ruth,Thanks for posting this.All day yesterday and today I have thought of LoS and MaineLady,others that live in the NorthEast.I bet MaineLady is having a ball with her snow mobiles playing.

I really would not how to love in states that get snow.We mostly get ice here in SC.Which is worst.LOL.My brother and his 2 DD and grandkids live in Hartford & New Haven Ct.They got plenty and doing good.I've been in contact through Facebook.

We lived in Waltham for a while and I'll never forget how a big storm like that shut things down. Sending the warmest thoughts I can to everyone in the NE.

I am very familiar with Waltham and Newton! That was a long time ago! Do NOT miss snow storms! In Nova Scotia, you just stay home and heat up the basement with a wood burning stove. Takes a while for local plows to reach all roads, most done by volunteer neighbors.

Greetings from the northeast! Thank you for thinking of us and the many others Nemo stormed upon. We made out pretty well here with about 18". It is hard to have an accurate total, due to the extreme winds. We have places on our lawn and terrace that are blown bare, then drifts that are 5' high. We didn't get the screens changed out for plexiglass on our porch this year and the wind was so strong it blew Nemo in through the screens and our porch now has 2-6" of snow in it. There is a 4' drift against the door. I will clear that out today.
I wonder about how Emily is doing. Her area got much more snow than we did....over 35 inches from what I hear and the drifting is higher. My brother, who also lives in southern Maine, opened his garage door to find the snow 3' high and that was at 7am yesterday, with more snow on the way. He will be cleaning out for quite a while.
I hope others will check in and let us know how they are. Also, to everybody cleaning up today, take your time and take some breaks. Do not over exert yourself.

I think of you all so often and look forward to the day when I can join in the posting more often.

Glad we are only shoveling sunshine here, temps in high 70's and low 80's.
Wish I could FIT you all here for an escape!
