Happy October 1st decorators! With the seasonal changes, pumpkins, mums, gourds, Halloween decor and more I hope this month brings good luck your way as you transition to autumn. The turkeys have found our property. They've been strutting across the deer fields and perching on the stone wall. Methinks I will be adding some turkey feathers to our porch decor. (Wouldn't it be lovely if the pheasants followed suit?)

Bunny, bunny rabbit to you too ML. It must be wonderful to see the turkeys out there. I love this time of year because it finally begins to cool down and I know Christmas is just around the corner Smile

Looking forward to fall and cooler weather too. Love to see the leaves with the color changes and feel the crisp-cool air.

Bunny bunny to you too Mary Ann! I thought of you at dinner last night and also the dear sweet man who was the partner of one of my bosses. They also did the rabbit, rabbit, bunny, bunny thing.

DGD got a nice find on one of her walks at Bowdoin. She found a pair of antlers. Her bio teacher asked her if they were both in the same place and they were. He told her then that the skeleton of the deer (buck?) was under the ground cover!

Bunny, bunny, rabbit, Maine Lady! It makes me so happy to see you getting back into your routines. It's still hot here on the west coast. We don't have the lovely transition of seasons like you do, but I do change out my front door wreath and a few things inside the house. I really want to bring out the fall/winter bedding, but it's just too darn hot for heavier layers.

Bunny bunny rabbit!

Weather is starting to get cool, the leaves are changing, and the sun is still shining. Perfect weather in my part of the woods!

Bunny bunny rabbit to you all!

We are having temps in the mid 80's and soon the windows will be open most of the day!
The breezes are slightly cooled and we leave the window open a bit during the night, bit cool in early AM, feels GREAT!

Hope you all have a great October! Can't believe it is that time already! The last week of October will be the 2nd Anniversary of our move into this house. And the 2nd Anniversary of my last surgery (Cervical spine). I am so happy that is all behind me.

okay, I'm totally lost with the bunny bunny rabit thing, lol.

Hope things are going well for you and your dh ML.

I take it you have wild turkeys on the property. We don't have those around here. We do have pheasants though.

Skyler, yes it will be Christmas before we know it! It is fun to watch the turkeys. We have two adults and 4 babies.

Thanks, Beau's Rose! I love seeing the colors change, too. Every morning the leaves like to show off their new colors.

Emily, Your DGD had quite a find! It is a bit eerie to think of the rest of the deer being below the ground cover. I wonder if she will decorate with the antlers?

Graciepj, it is a wonderful feeling to get back to our usual routines. DH is now using his excavator to clear out another section of our property. He is pulling up scrub brush and moving boulders. I am also eager to pull out some heavier bed coverings, but even here it is not cold enough quite yet. Some night's the temps dip into the high 30s, but some nights are
still in the 50s.

Cocok, cooler temps, sunshine and changing leaves. It is perfect, isn't it?

MaryRuth, Happy Anniversary, and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! I can well imagine all the work you have put into your recovery and your home. It is time for a celebration indeed!

Victoriangirl, Bunny Bunny Rabbit is a tradition in my family ( and with others, too, it seems). When spoken to others the first thing, on the first day of the month, it is meant to being good luck. I like to wish all of you here good luck with your decorating. Things are going very well for DH and me. Thank you! Yes, the turkeys are wild ones. They are entertaining to watch.

A bit late but Bunny, Bunny Rabbit wishes to all. I love this time of year. It's still a bit warm in South Georgia but the leaves are changing, the fall flowers, especially the goldenrod much to the dismay of allergy sufferers, are blooming, the farmers are busy harvesting their crops, and on a moon-lit night the cotton fields are beautiful with all the freshly opened cotton bolls. Happy October Smile

Maine Lady, I wanted to share pictures with you and others of the cotton in the moonlight. It was beautiful and so peaceful this evening. Thoughts and Prayers to all of you in the Northeast facing this storm.

Georgia Peach, those cotton bolls are beautiful! I have never seen anything like them. Thanks for sharing their loveliness.

I too am hoping all in the path of Sandy have taken precautions and will remain safe. She sure is a monster storm.
