Good morning everyone! I hope everyone is ready to share their very special treasures with all of us. They may be old or new....something you picked up recently or something you've had and want to share. Pictures are great but if you can't post them, just tell us about your goodies.

No shopping for me, just decorating the house for Thanksgiving. If I ever figure out how to use my camera with my new computer I'll post pictures.

Alas, after my haul last week, I've not been anywhere -- sad face -- looking forward to seeing what everyone else has found!

Mine isn't really a "find" but it is a new possession. Dh was approached recently to undertake a commission of a life sized bronze figure. When all was said and done he refused the commission (studio space, length of time, working with an ad hoc committee etc.) However the discussions piqued his "sculpture side" and he started doing some sculpting starting with a bust of Don Quixote, whom he had become recently enamored with.

This is terra cotta, kiln fired, life sized. Finished last week.

He is also buying lots of clay and resurrecting his old supply and has at least four or five new works in progress.

I finally got something to share. I've needed dishes for a while now, since I have dropsy lately!
I found this Corning Ware in my favorite junk shop. 71 pieces, including s&p, butter dish, gravy boat, sugar and creamer all marked $49.95, but Mike sold it to me for $25.00 !!

Forgot to mention As for Me:
A car full went to thrift store this AM, DH gladly helped me to bring stuff and unload! So, I gained about a 4' square space on my floor! I intend to work at filling it again for taking OUT stuff from the house. Now that I have the 'look' and mood of my house (to become) I can get rid of what won't work in the space as we work on different rooms.

We are still working in the pantry, got more than half the pull out trays in, and then the fridge gets moved, then the armoire gets moved to where the fridge was... then more pull out trays made... you got the idea... A work in progress... BUT on our way to becoming ORGANIZED and not keeping anything we don't need!

It is a hard road to redo, change and filter out and eliminate clutter, but we are committed and won't give up! LOL

This week, emptied a full tote of stuff out of the torn out old pantry and some things out of another cabinet. Feels good that those things found their permanent home!

Picture of ONE drawer, 12" of depth or height inside the bottom (pot style drawer) drawer. 30" wide and 18" depth.
Holds food grinder that fits on my mixer, Cuisinart and blade holder, rice cooker, kitchen scale and 9-tray dehydrator!

Martha, what no goodies Yes, your score last week could last us for a few weeks. I'm sure you're enjoying all your treasures.

LOS, how exciting for your DH. He does very nice work. I always wished I had a talent like that. It's such a gift.

Kathy, wow! It's always nice to find an entire set and at a great price too. You would pay a lot more than that in a regular store. Happy eating!

Mary Ruth, good for you! I wish you could come over and help organize me. I know what you mean about it being difficult to weed things out. When we move to the condo full time, I'll need to get rid of a houseful of furniture. I'm definitely not looking forward to that.

Emily, your husband is so talented. I wish I could do what he does. Wonderful bust.

Kathy, that is what mom uses too, she finds it nice and light to use.

MR, doesn't it feel good to be getting organized space for your things. Our cabinets in the diningroom are all pull out shelves.

I got a couple of statues. I've had my eye on them for awhile but waited for them to get marked down. They have a compare price of $60.00 ea, at Homesense they were $30.00 each and I got them for $11.00 each. I'm thinking of antiqueing them to add some age. I like the silver but I think in my livingroom, they would look better bronzed or something like that.

My DH gets hugs everyday, and I say 'oh hon, so much better than flowers!', meaning I see these as 'gifts' to US every day!!! We are RICH in pull out trays, and have only just begun!

When there is NO storage, a house gets cluttered real fast!

Our house in Virginia was always neat, BECAUSE the whole house had storage space in every room and walk in attic, plus more in the eaves. I miss that, but can at least get the storage we need (and it won't allow for extra) and that is OK for a retirement house! LOL

I always notice how people collect things, BUT if you do not have the cabinetry or closet for storage of those items, the clutter starts to accumulate. It is so hard when collecting items that are expensive, hard to give up buying a new piece and getting a cabinet instead, even a larger one to accommodate MORE of your collection!

You can get something like RuN'Buff in an antique gold or whatever your 'gold' tone is. And just antique with that on the silver, you get a wonderful Cool and warm tones and shadows on it. What EVER you do to them to accommodate them in your home will make them so special! The lines on the figurines are wonderful and so Art Nouveau! consider wood tones too!

I collect flower vases, and Saturday at a yard sale i found the bottom of a crystal butter dish. Hopefully I can find a top for it. Right now I have another little dish sitting in it. And I also found a vase, it's white with little blue flowers painted on it. I now have about 130 vases of all sizes and shapes. I also found a heavy lead crystal vase about 10 inches tall, and about 5 or 6 in. around. I made the mistake of showing it to my neighbor who was with me. She bought it out from under me.

Interesting figures, Victorian Girl, and good bargain hunting.

Mary Ruth, the house I live in now has drawers and pull-outs in all of the cabinets and I LOVE them. Small things can nestle among the larger items which is harder to do on shelves and you can reach everything. No need to take all of the items in front out to reach the items in back.

Congratulations on your finds, Irish Kid. I hope you will share pictures some time if you can.

I am so excited because it has been about 3 yrs since I was in my very organized kitchen in Virginia. And now with limited movements with my arms this is such a necessity! I am just so excited to not only have easy access BUT also being organized!

VG, nice statues. I think antiquing them is a good idea. I bet if they had been antiqued in the store they would have sold. I always love your shares!

Hi Irish Kid.....I'm Irish too (Colleen is my real name) Your collection of flower vases sounds amazing. I hope you find a top for your butter dish....ya never know when you'll find a treasure. Thank you for sharing your finds with us!

Ya, so different than how I planned my home in earlier years. Now there won't be storage for any 'future' decorating change.

I have close to 1900 sq feet and I want to use them for living! We spend so much time out of doors and visiting with people out of doors, that we will have to get busy in the back yard to make a patio area!
