It looks like a nice solution for TV. Do you have the cable hook-up near the corner? Don't forget a coat of paint is "always" fun too. Black, white, terra-cotta, or turquoise would look great on that piece. Woven cane could be added to the doors for accent.
You might even find some of those wood decal rosettes for the corners and change out the hardware for a different look too.
Keep us posted and show us the "after" pics!

Yes, my cable hook up is in the corner. I had my tv armoire in the corner previously when I had my old style box tv but when I upgraded to a flat screen I went a little bigger and my flat screen wouldn't fit in the armoire. Now I have my tv on a wider cabinet flat against a wall in the corner. I've tried angling the current cabinet but it looks kinda funny to me.
Here is an old picture of the current cabinet I had put on an angle. It looks to big to be angled don't you think? It is 51.5 inches wide and the craigslist corner cabinet is 42.1 inches wide.

Looks like a good fit to me (based on photos). As is, the cabinet fits well with your finishes - tile, sofas, etc. Worth looking at if you can go see it.
I remember when you purchased the flat screen. Didn't you buy a 42" screen? If you did then the TV stand that is for sale would be wide enough. If your comfortable viewing the screen at an angle then you would gain two advantages with the stand that is for sale. One, the TV wouldn't be flat against a wall of southern facing widows. Two, you could hide the clutter behind the cabinet doors.
As far as the color goes it is red oak and the orange hue goes with floor tile color. You also have an oak piece of furniture, (the armoire), on the opposite wall from the TV in its current position. Are you going to be comfortable with a black TV atop a light oak stand colorwise? It's not that it won't work, but more a matter of how you personally feel about it.
Be sure you like the looks of the TV in the corner..and will be able to see it comfortably from all seating that you have...Personally I do not like any furniture (TV or otherwise) across a corner. Our TV is in front of a double window (only place to put it for several people to watch.) and I really like it that way. I do have double windows on another wall so have plenty of light. I like the TV against the wall like you have it now....seems it can be seen from the chair AND the sofa.
I LOVE it> We have our tv in a corner, only possible place for it, but I want a nice stand. That one is perfect!! You happen to know the brand?? I'd pay retail for that stand..
Life is GOOD!!

My previous tv was angled in the corner so I know the viewing will be fine.
I am trying to figure out how far out the stand would be from the back corner..it's hard to figure with the angles. But I'm figuring if the widest part is 42.1 iches, I'd pull out the measuring tape to 42.1 and back it in to corner to see where that middle corner would land right?
Still tryin..you have a good memory. I wasn't sure if it was a 40 or 42 inch. The overall meausurment of the tv is 41.5 inches wide.
Kathy-I can't read the tag in the pictures but I am going to try to go see it today. I will see where it's from or who it's made by.
The more I'm looking at other corner cabinets online, this on is looking even better.

I like your current configuration, and the TV mounted to the wall would allow you to angle it for perfect viewing without altering the type cabinet you need.
Why change the furniture if you can just change the way the TV is attached?
Also, when not viewing, it can be pushed back flat against the wall and look as neat as it does in the photo you posted.

I don't know that I would want the tv mounted on the wall. Where it sits now on the current black cabinet is pretty much the max viewing height for me. I sometimes look at the bottom of the cabinet to see if I could cut the bottom to bring it down a couple inches.
In theory and if it was wall mounted...I like the idea of it looking nice and neat kept flat againt the wall when not in use, but reality is it would always be pulled out from the wall and angled for viewing especially when I get new LR furniture, so I figure it may as well just sit on an angle.
Plus if it was wall mounted I know it would drive me nuts to see it most the time pulled out from the wall mount and angled for viewing and the cabinet flat against the wall. Does that make sense? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Always1StepBehind,

Yes it makes sense because you are the one using it and having to maneuver it. Just curious if you had considered that arrangement. Also, hanging does not mean hanging higher, it can be mounted at height it is now.
Good luck with your choice and then relax and watch TV!

always, I haven't posted in some time but you and I seem to have such similar tastes and have had the same décor items over the years. With that said we bought that exact corner table...we paid full price at a shop, but I love it. It is craftsman in style but with a rustic feel to it. I think it would work well with your furniture style.

ok. I went to look at the cabinet today. I am interested but tell me what you think in regards to how far it will come out on the window wall (referring to above pictures)
The wall space to the window opening is 36-3/4 inches. The cabinet will overlap the window area about 1 inch. I currently don't have those cream colored panels up pictured in the above pictures so the panels are not a factor or worry.
I don't think 1 inch in front of the window will matter right? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Always1StepBehind,

Next question, providing that one inch overlap isn't an issue...If I decide to get the cabinet, how much should I offer. Personally I think $200. is way too high..I don't think I would want to pay any more than $150. and even that I feel is still high for craigslist.

Personally, I wouldn't be happy with an overlap. Believe it will appear unbalanced. (Yes, you can correct for the imbalance but still -)
Don't know why you removed the panels. Assuming you have the same furniture, I believe they provide softness and wouldn't want to remove them permanently.
In addition, $150 feels far too high for that piece. Have you thought about building a simple corner unit (or having a handy pal assist) and mounting the flatscreen so it can be angled around the room, if you so desire?
Anyway, JMHO and good luck -
P.S. Oops, just saw your comment about wall mounting. BTW, if you build something custom, you can make it slightly lower and also mount the TV at the optimal viewing location. They're usually not pulled out significantly, at least in my experience. If/when you change out the furniture, it s/b easy to adjust the mounting to the (new) optimal spot. This message has been edited. Last edited by: AguaBella,
Custom definitely takes care of the window imbalance. It could be done as a straight corner unit or as both a corner and wall unit. Either way, any imbalance on the other side can easily be corrected with plants, accessories, art, etc. if necessary.
Plus, if/when you sell this home, a custom unit may be a selling feature.
How long as the CL unit been on the market? This message has been edited. Last edited by: AguaBella,

She listed the cabinet on the 20th. I really don't want to pay any more than $125.
I feel it is overpriced so I feel like me offering $100-$125. is going to come across like I'm trying to low-ball them. Do I say I think it's overpriced or just say this all I'm in looking to pay for a used tv cab.

Sellers have that corner tv stand back on CL. Same price of $200.00 though. I still like it, but will have to wait now till I get my sectional and make sure of the layout before I decide to change tv stand and angle.

Had wondered previously if it was relisted. Good idea to get your sectional in place and go back. They'll come down.
Checking for someone else recently and happened to notice that cheapy, new TV stands start at $20 at Ikea. Makes it tough for other sellers to compete -
