I wouldn't call those ugly. I think they are more experimental. They look like something straight out of art/design school. Really idea or concept driven.

Yeah, they're really, really bad. I could make the twig/light bulb hanging light. I'm starting to think "genius" here.
cocok...I'm sure you're right, these are probably art school projects so I give them credit for creative thinking. This message has been edited. Last edited by: My dog,

Sometimes for ASID conventions we had to design something for a charity auction to raise money. When I lived in Fort Lauderdale, and the convention in Colorado came up, it was for styling umbrellas! Because a lot of people were traveling by plane, the project was kept small.
We did our project (6 of us ASID chapter gals) went to the convention and brought our 'Fantasy Fest' umbrella. If you have not been to a Fantasy Fest in Miami, they have like a Mardi gras type trimmings. Our goal was to make this umbrella so tacky and glitzy! We had so much fun making it! There was a limit on the amount of money you could spend on it.
Another group of students from a different state made theirs 'Singing in the Rain' and when they turned their umbrella right side up, their umbrella after lipsinking to the song, lots of brightly colored condoms came out! (in their package)! Everyone grabbed them up and threw them around, it was hilarious! But not as funny as when we went to the restaurant and the cute waiter came over to the table and we all had condoms all on the table while emptying our pockets and our hand bags were open with them hanging out. FUNNY, had to be there!
This might have been a competition like this. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Mary Ruth,

I'm sure the waiter thought you gals had just come from "another" kind of convention.

As cocok said, it's mainly experimental than ugly. Was this done as part of some project?
zone9alady, Ya, from his comments! He was so cute we made him blush so badly! Poor kid! That was not the worst of it!
One gal got drunk, if you are not familiar with going to Denver straight from FL 12' approx highest sea level to about 4,000 feet sea level and plus, when you drink it affects you very much more so. We were careful, and she thought she would be OK to have her 'usual' amount of hard liquor with dinner. Well, she walked outside the hotel to get some air, and somehow wandered a bit down the street. Then realized she got lost, so she saw a police car and waved them over. She explained what happened, they saw she was inebriated, and was going to help her till they asked for some ID and she opened her bag to reveal all those condoms! We got a call at the hotel later on to go get her at the station after she 'slept it off'! They booked her for suspicion of soliciting! OMG (then when we explained to them, they laughed and dropped the charges) it was not so funny when we got her back to the hotel, then we realized what happened, laughed then we couldn't stop, I mean belly rolling on the floor laughing so hard! I will never forget that day with us gals all so sore from laughing so much!
I kept a few of those condom packages to use to tell the story for a long time! We brought them back to school (college) and the girls shared that story in the dorm for ages! Always breaking into laughter whenever we told it! It would start with 'oh ya like that time in Denver'! lolThis message has been edited. Last edited by: Mary Ruth,

Mary, that is one of those fun times that will never be forgotten. Sounds like you could make a movie out of it...like "BridesMaids"
