Our Hobby Lobby just opened yesterday..I am hoping to get there tomorrow. Have heard many good things obout it on this board, but also some negative comments..BUT we only have Michaels and a small Joannes here so it will be a very welcome store. Going to hit the fabric dept first, and hope they carry some outdoor fabrics,, but am very anxious to see the bead dept. Also hope to find some nice pots for plants on a window ledge.

They are a huge store but the thing to remember is that every week they have "something" at half price (i.e. lamps, pillows, frames, etc.) so we always wait until that item is half price before we buy!
And their mark down sales are good as well -- 80% off the items on the shelves and they're from all over the store.
They are a good place for seasonal items but wait until they are 50% off (and that happens several times during that season's selling season -- i.e. Fall and Halloween are put out in July I think (LOL!)
If you like silks they have a nice selection of those as well and the ones here are one of the few places that you can buy upholstery type fabric to do those little projects like cushions or curtains.
But I do know that much of their merchandise is made in China!
They have a 40% downloadable coupon EVERY week. Their sale flyer is posted every week on their website too. Fabrics are always marked down 30%, but you can use the 40% coupon instead. The fabric selection is different than Joanns and they have a few outdoor fabrics. Remember that they are NOT open on Sunday (I found that out the hard way).
If you have a phone that has Internet access, you can just go to their web site and show them the coupon on your phone. I keep their page bookmarked for just such occasions. Today, it saved me $3.00 off a package of vellum sheets.
When you go to their site using a mobile device, it opens a mobile view of their site--not the full-fledged site that takes forever. So, it loads quickly.
Watch your battery life on your phone. If it's running low, and you get stuck in a long line, you don't want your battery going dead just as you get to the cashier!!!

One opened near us recently. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised. There is the usual craft paraphernalia and silk flowers but some of their home decor items were surprisingly stylish.
