The weeks are starting to become muddled. I think we are heading into week 5 on the kitchen remodel. The smell and the dust is beginning to get to me. On top of all of this, my DD is moving out today, so all of her stuff is piled in the LR.....serenity now.
I came home after being gone a week and he has put the moulding back up and added trim to the top of the cabinets. The walls have been primed and painted as has the trim. The recessed lighting is complete. The granite guys have come out and supposedly the granite will be installed next Thursday-woohoo. However because of the DD moving, I requested he hold off on demoing the entry tile just so we could get all of her cr@p out So heres some updated pictures:This message has been edited. Oh so the paint color, is that peanut butter color she loves, I take it.
It doesn't seem like it's been that long. Can't believe it's going on 5 weeks for you. But of course I'm not living there. lolThis message has been edited. Last edited by: lilsophie,

Wow, I know you don't feel like this right now Annie, but you have come such a long way in five weeks. Looks beautiful and with everything else going on ...wow.
I really like it, the granite is a little darker than I remember, but it'll work and the mantra of the hour is "get'er sold". The granite is called Santa Rita.It has a lot of black running through it which is fine because I accent a lot with black. My black hutch would of looked great....but I sold it on craigslist I'm just relieved the granite fit. Heres a couple of pictures:

Thanks so much Mary Ruth, lilsophie and Beau's Rose. It's finally feeling like a kitchen and when its all done, I can walk away from this house knowing we did the right thing upgrading the kitchen.

The color on the walls is Family Legacy by Glidden. I have it pretty much throughout the house. I went with it because making another decision might of sent me over the edge-lol!

I was SO excited when I saw your post!!! I love seeing all your progress pictures. The granite looks great.
I was just telling my neighbors, and I think it's from seeing your reno, that I'd like to redo my kitchen cabinets and countertops in the next couple years!!
Keep the gorgeous progress pic's coming!!

Love the new granite, it looks similiar to my quartz.
I noticed that in every picture you posted the paint color on the walls looks different. That's why it's so hard to show colors on the internet, so much depends on lighting and time of day. I have Valspar Gold#2 and #3 in most areas of my home but when I take photos sometimes it looks like peach.

This morning I painted out the harlequin pattern on the walls in the entry...it had its day. Now when I look from the eating area down, it's less busy.

Looks wonderful! I'm such a slacker...I've been wanting to do a harlequin wall for years, and haven't accomplished it yet, and you have done it and UNdone it.
Thanks everyone!!!! You all have been so supportive. Trudi you made me laugh, you're not a slacker, if thats the case I've probably slacked for the last 3 years. I used to be all gungho with decor and then I lost my mojo. Doing this remodel has rekindled my interest, however I will be over the moon thrilled when we are done!! I got home tonight and the floor is completely laid, just waiting for grout. I can see the finish line

Annie, the kitchen is coming together so nicely. Love everything you have picked out so far. You must have a pretty good contractor, things seem to be going relatively quickly.

Oh wow that is really coming along and looking wonderful. I love the wall color too. It is very similar to my master bedroom color. Love the granite and the backsplash. I'm so tickled for you. I love it!
I love the remodeling. Just curious -- Do you regret that you didn't do this while you were living there so you could have enjoyed it? I'm sure it's going to make a great difference in selling your place though.
I have approached this like a flip. Sure it would of been nice to have done this earlier and enjoyed it, but the trade off is I am moving to a smaller community near the beach - somthing I never imagined doing but always dreamed about. It's a lifestyle change that is so worth it to both myself and my DH. I have enjoyed the process and to see my vision come to life has been exciting! I will walk away from this house proud. Its been a good home, I just want to leave it looking it's best.

That's an awesome attitude, annielinz! I hope I can have the same attitude when it's time for me to walk away from my home of almost 30 years...Like you, I WANT to move on to my dream, but I know it will be hard...But that's not going to happen for a few years for me, so I'm happy for you, and the kitchen looks fantastic!
Benchwarmer, thanks for the vote of confidence, its nice to see you here.
Nitalynn, thank you, its an attitude thats been in the making. I know I will be a blubbering mess when we pull away from this house, not because of the renovations but this is where I raised my kids, my friends are here and I was born in this town. I will leave behind lots of memories. However a new adventure awaits us and new memories to be made.
Annie, I'm not really tempted to stay, but the decorator in me can't wait to style this kitchen when its done!!!!!

Wanda and mamaspoon, funny thing about the faucet.... I ordered it online and liked the look of it, but didn't see it in person. Most of the single faucet heads out there are the more industrial/restuarant ones that have the high neck and sprayer that pulls out. I wasn't feeling those for this kitchen. I wanted a more traditional one, yet stylish. Once it was installed I was a little worried at how high the neck went up and was second guessing my decision. So I'm thankful for your input on it.
Here's the funny part, my DH liked it, but just stood there confused how to turn it on-LOL. I had to show him the little arm on the side that you move back and forth for hot & cold, off & on....
