I need your advice. I am not able to find a paint glaze for a table I am redoing. I have the base color, but there are no stores close by that carry glaze. Is there some way to get the glazed look with out a glaze? I was thinking about trying to water down the top coat. Any suggestions? Thanks so much | |||

I am not sure what you are trying to achieve with glaze. Lightening the color, making it hazy or darker antiquing type color. You will get an 'amber' affect with polyurethane (yellowing when it dries). You can add tints of craft paints to the poly IF it is water based. You can add a hint of color (in separate container so as not to tint your whole poly in the can) with oil based artist paints in the non-water based polys. Mix well, this will give you a translucent and tinted medium to apply over your paint layer. BTW, you can order glaze online.
