Remember last year and the PB bird pear tree s&p that sold out immediately? Then you found them on ebay and they were SELLINGS for hundreds? (not just listed -- selling!)

Well, PB has them AGAIN this year! What you want to bet that have LOTS! They're $5 higher -- $35 instead of $30.

Anyone wanting one may be able to get one after Christmas for half of $35 I'm thinking!

I wonder how foolish those folks were who paid $300+ last year for one feels now?

Oh how I remember! I spotted that for my MIL and didn't buy it right away - after calling over 10 stores nationwide - I got one.

There is a whole 12 days line out this year - the four calling birds bowl is pretty, so we will be buying that for MIL.

FYI - the squirrel and nut s/p shaker set is wicked cute this year Wink

JC -- yes== there is a lot of cute seasonal things in the catalogue. I'm wondering which one will be "the" one -- the one they run out of and the one that will sell for many more $ on ebay!

I was in Toronto this past week and saw them at Pottery Barn. I just had to buy one as I couldn't resist. It's so adorable!

And thank you for the reminder! I just placed an order for MIL and DM's gifts this year. DO NOT want to go through that again this year - LOL! They will both be receiving the 4 calling birds bowl for Christmas!

The reindeer butter dish is super cute - though no one uses stick butter at the table these days...

That's so cute. I didn't realize it was a hard-to-find item last year.

Martha, I think of that everytime I get a fabulous deal on something. I got a great deal on leather boots a couple of weeks ago and thought, somebody actually paid $250.00 for these boots. I got them them for around $35.00.

I can't believe they were getting $300.00 for them on ebay, wow. They were nice but not $300.00 nice.

VG -- I can't believe that either. Someone posted that they were $300 on ebay and I went and looked because "asking" and "getting" are two different things. Nope, if you went to the completed auctions, they had SOLD for $300!!

I'm not sure why, either, someone would pay $300 for a NEW made in China $30 item. But they were!

Which is why, I'm thinking that they were brought back this year.

I do think they're cute and would look great on a Christmas table . . .

Martha,

Lots of chuckles today at PB when I saw them on display again. Sales clerk mentioned they were already on the second shipment of them. Do you think they run out on purpose?

Buy them quick!

Sounds like Beanie Babies: I mean they're cute and all, but I still don't understand all the fuss.

I saw Pottery Barn also have (had?) prancing reindeer salt/pepper like the bird/pear set.
cute.

These are the sort of things that when you see them you have to buy them now, don't even think about it. Smile

Well, . . . "here we go again" . . . . the salt and pepper is "backordered" on line (should be here by first of December) and it's $45 to $60 on ebay (most are buy it now -- not sure it's being bought)

I'm wondering if smart entrepreneurs haven't bought them all up hoping to make money on them this year.

Geesh!

That was my post - I was so appalled at the prices and at the same time kicked myself for not buying TWO and doing the same...

The bowls arrived today and are quite nice. Lesson learned last year - if you like it, don't wait!

My daughter always circles the things in a catalog that she wants, so circled things in the Pottery Barn catalog. I didn't circle these, tho, no need to put the family through that. Big Grin
