Mirror Size - Pic Sign In/Join

A dear friend of mine offered to make me a mirror to hang above my sofa. I measured it out and used markers on the wall of white paper to represent the corners of the mirror that measures 36H x 83W - My condo is rather small so I wanted something to really open the space which I think this will accomplish this, but I'm now rethinking, did I go too big? The frame will be 4" dark walnut in a distressed finish.

The mirror will reflect an antique armoire that is opposite in my den and while I'm in the kitchen it will reflect the dock and boats as we live on the water.

Please look past the messy sofa. Our maid never showed today. Come to think of it she's been MIA for a while now - LOL

Thanks!

So, I am assuming that the outside edges of the white paper represent the size.

Since you have a sectional that is large and the ceiling fan that color and other dark furniture in the room, I do not think it is too large.
If you are worried then go with the inside measurement of the white paper.

Will the dark frame be as wide as what is there now (dark frame around mirror)

I like the idea of a larger mirror there.

Hi Mary Ruth!

Yes, the outside edges represent the size of the mirror and my current frame is approx 4" which my new mirror will be as well. I'm not the best visualizer, so thank you for your input!

Looks like a perfect size for above the sofa. I wouldn't flank it w/ the sconces tho. Use those elsewhere.

I agree, won't need them with new mirror.

LOL - When I read your post, my husband's quote ran through my mind "Are those on the short list" aka GoodWill. I have no other place for them, so I have a feeling that someone at GoodWill will be mighty happy.
