...do you like/dislike them? do you like your brand? Are the Levelors better than ones from Target or Walmart?

Would appreciate any thoughts/tips. TX!

I have wooden ones in Mi 2" wide - easy to dust and clean. But also have had the Levelors metal 1" blinds and found they were dust collectors.

I have had both the wood faux blinds and the metal blinds. Slowly changing over to the 2" blinds but with so many windows I have been working on one room at a time. I have been more pleased with the ease of operation with the Levolor blinds I have special ordered. I seem to have more trouble with the cords hanging up when I open and shut the blinds with the cheaper brands. You may have no problem at all with them. And also, I find all of them dust collectors In our weekend home I have shutters and they are so much easy to keep clean.

ETA, This info may or may not be of interest to you. I ordered for my glass patio doors/windows ODL blinds. It is a blind inside of glass which EASILY mounts on your door. It's nice to have the privacy of a blind on your door without the blind swinging to and fro when you open and shut the door.

I have never bought blinds from Walmart or Target; all mine have been custom fit because of the non-standard size of my windows.

I remember metal blinds from the 50s and 60 in my parents' home and never again. I have had wood and faux wood slatted blinds and plantation shutters, as well as the Hunter Douglas Silhouette shade, ranging in width from 2" to 4". Love them all. But, like anything else, they do need dusting.

In the rooms that have blinds, we have the Levelor faux wood type. We have cats and they like to pry their way between the blind sometimes so that they can look out at their leisure. Would love to have real wood instead, but was concerned that they'd break the wood slats (yeah, we've got a couple of real chubbers around here.) So, I go the less expensive route with the faux. They're behind WTs so it doesn't really matter anyway.

I've had the less expensive "store brand" 2" faux wood blinds from both HD and Lowe's at previous houses and never had any trouble with them. We got the Levelors this time and I will say the raising/lowering/opening/closing mechanisms are much nicer than the store brands. There are more cords supporting the slats which allows them to operate more smoothly without sagging int he center (for wide windows) and the price difference wasn't that much higher than the "store brand". They are available off the shelf at most Lowe's and they will cut them to your window width if needed.

I bought all plastic cheapo ones at Home Depot or Lowe's for my house when i moved in until i decided what to do with the window treatments.

Most of them have held up very well in the 5 years i've not decided. Two that get fair to moderate use have cracked and need replacement. Otherwise, they're ok.

I live lightly with my things, and my things last a long time, i've discovered, as i have three house guests and they are hard on stuff. Suddenly some things need to be replaced soon.

There are 5 slatted blinds across the window in our den. I think they are either Lovelor or Kirsch. The slats are beveled but it seems they have discontinued this style. These were ordered from a local vendor and installer as it was complicated dealing with window cranks and the aluminum molding. I am happy with the quality and no problems with raising them as needed. They are heavy though when pulling the cord.

I usually vacuum them with a soft brush to get the dust off of them. It is a pain when doing the real official cleaning on them due to the cords that go down through each slat. You have to clean the top of slat and bottom. In and out for each separate space (between the rows of cords).

Even with the blinds closed the dust still collects on the slats. Bet I could write my name in them today. LOL.

I have 2 inch wood blinds on all my windows from 3 Day Blinds. Have had them for 13 yrs. They've held up very well. Cleaning is tedious. They are dust collectors. I use a swiffer duster with endust on them about once a week. When I have time I wipe them slat by slat with a micro fiber cloth. I hate cleaning them. They are great for privacy and room darkening.
