This is the last night in this house for this kitchen! We knew what was ahead of us when we bought the house, but I said "eh, at least the yellow wallpaper is cheery"

At any rate, here is the before!

I've spared you all the close ups of the sink (BLECH) that is falling through the counter.

We'll also have the laundry and foyer tiled. Don't know when the next photos will post, but I hope you all enjoy seeing the 70's go bye-bye! (BTW - LOVE the wine cooler we're having installed!)

You should see the original linoleum that we found under the dishwasher - can you imagine this with the wallpaper? What were they thinking????

The crew worked very fast yesterday - difficult work to get those cabs out - could not salvage anything either.

At any rate, a big empty blank slate...

Watching and chuckling and waiting for the day we can do ours! Gotta love these older places in their vintage unattractiveness. Makes the "after" so much more overwhelmingly awesome!

JC, this is TOO funny!! Our first home in the early 80's as newlyweds had that identical wallpaper in our kitchen. Our floor was a patterned green pulled from the wallpaper. It WAS a cheerful kitchen Smile Almost like you were in a meadow Smile Hope your renovations are moving along as planned....keep us posted Smile

I LOVE seeing the space with everything OUT. Makes the space open up! Erase the memories...
TIME for the NEW to enter! Exciting times for you!

Back 'then' the kitchens that allowed for a large table and chairs for breakfast and lunch was considered the all time best kitchen! Dining rooms were reserved for dinner and some used them for only special dinners like for the Holidays.

Just popping in to say thanks Wink for all the encouragement. It has been a challenge this week, that's for sure! Had to do a big cleanup in there this am. Drywall dust really bugs me...

Electrician and Plumber have been through, so the electric, gas, and water have been taken care of for now. New insulation added and sheetrock is up. Drywallers will finish this week, kitchen floor begins on Tuesday, and cabs should be installed starting Thursday.

Estimated completion date is last week of Nov - I think - so we'll be going elsewhere for T-day!

I'll keep you posted!
