Hi. Looking for a new lamp but noticed something interesting while looking.. All the lamps I see have hard drum shade. All shapes actually, that hard material. Are the days or thin fabric shades over? Don't those types of shades let more light through or is this my imagination?

Lamps Plus carries fabric shades. I have also seen them at Target, Lowe's and Home Depot.
