Here is a kitchen we recently installed for a customer. Cabinets are oak. I would have loved to have seen her go with maple or cherry, but..... I love the raised dishwasher! What do you all think? BTW, I have new computer and I used to be here as Appalachiangirl.

Kitchen looks great! Do she plan to add hardware? I love the red dishes, do you have pics of the whole kitchen?

I see some food cooking in the oven, yum! Smile

I love a raised dishwasher... so much easier on the back.

ETA: Love the look of the pantry/refrig. Gives a built-in look without the cost.

The location of the dishwasher in the corner made it ideal to raise it, but I don't like the raised dishwasher in the middle of the room although I have seen lots of them installed there.

The new dishwashers are even lower to the floor than the old ones. Its taken me a year to get used to standing on my head to get the dishes out.

Love,
Lu

Pretty kitchen. I have the same countertop (I think - is it Wilson Art?), so a little prejudiced. Hardware on cabinets will definitely enhance. Good job!

Interesting. I've never seen a raised dishwasher. I would probably have brought the pantry cabinet out to be flush w/ the depth of the dishwasher tho, but I wonder if the moisture would be good for food products above (as is or flush). Did you or your client consider installing the newer dishwasher drawers vs. the standard type you feature here?

The countertops are Wilson Art - Butter-rum Granite. As for bringing the cabinet above out flush, I considered it but didn't think it would look as good. However in my new kitchen, I intend to extend the depth to 15" there instead of the standard 12" depth. She still has to put her tile down, it's going to be 18" square with browns, golds and beiges. The hardware is a long stainless steel pull. We did consider the dishwasher drawers but budget was a BIG factor so not for long LOL. She reports that the dishwasher is her favorite part of the kitchen. Very easy to load & unload. BTW, there is a drawer under the dishwasher and she keeps Reynolds's wrap, Seran wrap and things like that in it. Another neat thing is the pull-out spice rack, I want that too. Come to think of it, that's MY dream kitchen in someone else's house.

Beautiful work. The oak is timeless. I too have the wilsonart counter, and I love it. I have seen the raised dishwasher, but in my new kitchen, I needed the counter space above mine. I love the pantry around the refrigerator. What a good idea.
The red is stunning. Are the tater tots done yet?

Another thing that I noticed is the "food club" brand. Where are you?

For anyone planning a kitchen I can't tell you how much I love, love, love my raised dishwasher and my raised counter height. I'm jealous though, mine has a space under it with a matching panel that "snaps" into place but it's not a drawer so totally useless. I'm gonna look into it now though. Very nice job!

Lovely Kitchen. I really like the pantry area but I do not like raised dishwashers. For my taste it is just taking an already ugly appliance and putting it front and center.
