Is it possible to get a good mattress set for around $500? Has anyone bought the ones at Sams Club or Costco?
Costco or Sams club should be fine. I know my inlaws have bought their last 2 sets from Costco. Queen and then up to a King.
About 5 years ago my DD got a set from 1-800-mattress. They brought it right in and put it in place. It was great! It was a perfect arrangement for someone just starting out. I think that it was less than $300. She still uses it without any problems.
Forgot to ask what size mattress are you looking to buy? When I was looking for a new mattress (queen size) I had gone to Mattress Discounters and bought a last years model at a discount. I bought DD's full mattress at Ashley furniture...on sale of course.
You just need to shop around and find a really good sale.
Macy's has some good sales too.
My friend bought a mattress at Big Lots. It was brand name and was inexpensive.
She loves it.
Thanks all. Here was my thought.
We're visiting our out-of-town single son for 5 nights. He has an extra bedroom for guests but doesn't have a bed in it. For the price we'd pay for a hotel, I thought why not just buy him a Q or K mattress set and linens and stay there. He liked the idea. (or so he says)
I think that is a great idea...I was also going to mention Big Lots. I believe they carry the brand with those little sheep...Serta I believe. Probably not top of the line, but good enough for a guest room that doesnt get use daily. I wouldnt hesitate to buy from Costco either.
Nance,I bought one last year from BigLots. It was the best money I spent in a long time. The matress set we bought is so comfortable and well worth the money. We looked at higher end matress',I tested them out.Yes I laid on the beds in my sleep position.People dont do that but I wanted to make sure how the bed felt in.LOL.DH was telling me to get off the bed.LOL
When we visit DH family in NC.We always take along our air mattress.Hid sis has an air bed that has metal frame to it.It's easy to set up and push the button to inflate & deflate too.Just another idea. She got her from QVC but you can buy them at Walmart too.I do agree with having a real bed thou.It would be a great purchase. This message has been edited.
