Mary Ruth feel better soon. Healing prayers for you.
I am what I am because He is I AM!!!
Well, the yahoos that messed up my floor are supposed to be here tomorrow morning to fix it.(long Story) I told the owner the ONLY way they are coming into my house if if he comes and stays with them.
If I can just get that behind me, we can start some other indoor small projects while waiting for the contractor to build the porch.
i only wish! another one of the sickies...
My life and my decorating has been on suspend for a long while since I have people living in my living room. I'm hoping to get my house and my life back soon. Until then.. i'll just watch and post silly questions about bathroom window treatments.
I wondered what would happen when every other new thread is a post by that spammer Michael somebody. Keep me in mind if you go to Facebook or elsewhere.
Boy what a day today!
I look like a truck hit me! LOL With boot, cane, and two wrist supports! Thing is to adjust to all this, my body hurts ALL over, especially my wrists (from cane), can't use crutches since both shoulders are not reliable. They showed me to use cane with left hand (very unreliable, can't even hold a half full cup of tea in that hand). So... I got inventive. I picked up speed tonight by walking differently in the boot... so tomorrow hopefully will be better.
Boy did this experience make me feel OLD! LOL
Thanks Belstone, mamaspoon!
Indexlady, thank you, I do feel better tonight and should have a better day tomorrow! I am being a good girl and keeping the weight off it as much as I can.
Yes, it amazes me too! I hurt my ankle in August in a miss-step, it healed and then in November it started to ache... in a different place (inside the ankle), and then it got worse and worse till the doctor tried a brace for the past 6 weeks, and that made it worse... so now the boot...I also took the 'shot', didn't want to, but my patience is running thin at this point...! It is swelling, no real damage...that showed up on xrays. So, this should be the last phase, then therapy... So, I am on a path to getting it better!
Almost finished the reply when I noticed page 2!
Thanks Lisa Ann!
Becky 56, Good luck with your floor!
You are not feeling well?
AW life happens! I hope it all gets worked out and you will gain your space back!
PHOTO of my latest ACCESSORIES! Fashionable or what? Basic black! LOL
Boy Mary Ruth, those wrist braces would make texting more difficult for me. Hope each day brings improvement for you.
WOW Mary Ruth. I'm so sorry to hear all this. You poor thing
Hope you heal quickly. Keep checking in with us all, so we know you are OK!!!!
Thanks mamaspoon and lisophie!
The ankle needs to be immobilized. I can't seem to 'sit still' for very long, so staying 'off' it didn't work... LOL and so no crutches, cane for me....then I have issues with both arms and shoulders since my fall about 4 yrs ago.
So, all that paraphernalia just for a painful ankle! The shot should stop hurting soon (injection made it painful) but when the cortisone starts to do its job, I should be more comfortable.
It is amazing how the apparatus they have today makes life easier while recovering from an injury! I can take that boot off to sleep and for showering! I wear the braces on my wrists to prevent injury, so that is a plus...
Thanks for your well-wishes and kind comments! I really hope this works! A gal like me who does not sit still too long... makes being immobile a bit too confining.
Snickering.... A bit more attention from DH doesn't hurt either! LOL
He is working on our master closet. Floor is tiled, walls are cleared of old wire system, really only ONE shelf! And now the walls are being painted white. Looks so CLEAN in there!
this is the plan for our small WIC closet... what was there before was one wire shelf at 76" or so inches from the floor! Ouch to the shoulders for my having to reach so high to put away clothes on hangers! NO MORE!This message has been edited. Last edited by: Mary Ruth,
this shows the BEFORE wire shelf at top, there was one on the other side that came around but this side just ended at side wall, you can see where someone removed the extension piece. This photo shows that the ceiling has been painted.
WE were going to get to this after the kitchen was done... but with all that was going on with me and my body aching from 'the other' issues... I just had a melt down (well not so bad, but I did whine a bit) to DH and said 'would LOVE to change this situation' for my Bday! And he said OK!
IT is taking longer than I thought to get it done... but time was going to go by anyway... and now I can see ahead to a better closet and less hassle for me to put clothes away! !!!This message has been edited. Last edited by: Mary Ruth,
I'm sorry you're hurting so bad Mary Ruth, and I haven't read all of the posts. What did you do to yourself??
Mary Ruth, that is quite a collection of accessories!!! Wishing you speedy healing!
It's been Spring Break here so just soaking up every moment with my girls. My oldest has been home from college. Funny, she does NOT approve of changes being made while she is away. Really let's me have it. lol!
In August I stepped over some wood near the saw where DH was ripping material for our pantry cabinet... and I had flip flops on... my foot went on a piece of 1/4" material that looked solid, but it was next to a 2X4 so when I stepped on that area, the 1/4" material went down to the ground, but the 2X4 was sturdy. My toes went straight UP and my foot went down... It was a huge OUCH for sure, but with ice and care it healed within a few weeks, and I was careful after... Then around Christmas the pain grew worse in the ankle part and became painful to walk on it. So, off to the doctor I went... then he gave me a brace, but all it did was tighten where the painful part was, made my foot worse and hit my leg in the back where it aggravated the tendons. I stopped using it, so the problem in my ankle didn't go away. So, the next appointment led to me accepting the cortisone shot and then getting this boot. This should help me a great deal. The problem just lasted too long... I should have been more diligent in caring for my foot, but somehow it just didn't seem bad enough... WRONG... I learned my lesson, I can't heal it by walking on it in flip flops! LOL Of course when summer comes this year I plan to be on the beach walking in flip flops and in the sand! Well at least as soon as the foot doctor clears me to!
I know what you mean about 'letting you have it'! My SIL told us all one time she was ready to sell the house a couple of years after her husband passed. Both grown kids had been out of the house for a long time. The youngest visited (getting his Doctorate) and saw some changes and 'wind' of possible sale of the house... boy did he explode! He said 'this is MY home'! Don't change it!
It is so hard with all the changes in their lives, it is hard to accept that the 'grounding place' is changing! I feel for her, but this is just the beginning of realizing that her parents have a life when she is off at school!
Wishing you all the luck with that! She will adjust as my DH's nephew did... it will just take some time. Once she gets back to school and talks about that experience, I am sure she will hear others talking about same and then she will see it is not that big a deal...
