OK so I checked out the wall console or unit they were offering since listing said no price.

The third photo down in the thumbprints was THIS!

Kind of eerie for CL! No mention is made of it, do you suppose it was a wrong photo?

made me shudder...

I would think it was either a mistake or a really BAD joke. Death isn't funny, so I hope it was a mistake.

Well, since that would hardly be "entertaining," I'll assume it was a mistake.

Sometimes when you post pics that aren't labeled with a name and only a number, one tends to upload the wrong one. Why they didn't fix it, is beyond me since CL asks you to look at your post before it is published.

Wanda,
Yes, I hear you, didn't think of that about just posting the number so they don't review.

I am sorry if I offended anyone with this post. It is surprising how many posts are actually good ones when you think about how people could abuse this privilege of posting things for free!

Remember when Jay Leno would show ads with mistakes on his show? They can be pretty funny. This seems like a mistake to me. I know death isn't funny, but I have to admit this made me chuckle. It was just so bazaar.

Well I sure hope it was a accident and if so can you imagine how embarrassed the person that posted it would feel if they knew it was there. If not a accident, well some people have a warped sense of humor don't they? lol

I'm sure it's a goof - but it is funny to me.

Not that I think death is a laughing matter, but it is going to happen to all of us.

This posting is not a mistake! The list is still active, AND there is a separate one with the photo above for $900. This is a 'Memorial' place!

Sounds like a CL bargain to me, (for someone who wants one). We went through pre-planning with my DM a few years ago, and they were all a lot more expensive than 900! Wink

I may have a weird sense of humor, but it also brought a smile to my face.

You all do know you can go to Costco and buy one, don't you ? Maybe they decided that it took up too much room awaiting that final moment. Or decided to get cremated and don't need a casket anymore. Agree it's a most unusual CL listing. And it is a good deal as far as caskets go.

Can you just imagine STORING this thing?

I agree about cremation. Since I retired, I get mail advertising pre-planing deals! I told DH, while chuckling' are they trying to tell me something? LOL

Costco..., didn't know that!

I recall back in the 70's, there was a woodworking magazine that came out with plans for a large storage coffee table (or blanket chest), that one could eventually be buried (or cremated) in. You could enjoy the building and finishing of the wood and enjoy it....well....forever.Wink

Donating my remains to a medical school and when they are done, eventual cremation is my plan.

conrad,
WOW, I remember that! I thought it was morbid back then! LOL

Donating to a medical school, check that out, they have had an overabundance of donations and even with a rare condition to be studied! Things have changed... of course we are talking WAY into the distant future!!!!

That idea was used to bypass the burial costs, that could be why so many went that way with donations.

Mary Ruth, you are probably right. DH's parents had signed up long ago, and the most recent I looked up was 3-4 years, and a medical school in (Oregon?) would pay for the transport.

Well if it does not work out, any parts can be locally used/recycled as needed, and then toasted. Honestly I won't be needing any of it, so it could even go to the landfill as far as I am concerned. My friend said she would take me up to the mountains and let the wind have me. I like that idea too.

Lovely container! For whatever its purpose.
I know several people who have the cremains of relatives in boxes and urns in their home. (some proudly on display on their mantel).

Told my family...I don't want that. Let me go...I will have things to do, places to go..blowin in the wind. Big Grin

conrad,
LOL I posted that box because in some older construction manuals rectangle shaped boxes are called coffins! (the shape).
Well there is a little stream in Nova Scotia I would love to be scattered over...

Blowin in the wind sounds good!
