Hey y'all, since I'm new here, I'd love to take a peak of everyone's favorite room of their house or place of living. I'd love to get a feel of everyone's style.

My favorite room is our Den, we overlook the back area of our home with lots of Florida foliage. I can see the weather changing by looking at the sky, and see lots of critters and birds keeping busy. No photo of it yet. It is our transition room at the moment. My computer is in that room.

This is our sitting room where we sit to watch t.v. and also read.

I like all my rooms for different reasons. One thing I would recommend to everyone is to sit in a place other than where you normally sit. . . whether it is at the table or in your family room, wherever. It is good to get a different view of things.

Also AliDecor, one old time member here, JoyLuck, keeps a list of online photo albums of members homes. You would really enjoy looking at some of these homes.

the best view is on the second floor bathrom "throne"...has the best view of the entire backyard...

love the layout of the master...it's on a corner and has side and backyard views...

Our house is small -- only 7 rooms plus a bath and a half and a large screened in front porch. We use and love all the rooms in the house and it is a lived in house!

But my favorite room has to be the breakfast room. The small room that we added on 5 years ago.

Until we added the room we ate all of our meals in the formal dining room so it was refreshing to finally have an informal eating place.

It has one wall of brick, three walls of glass and a brick floor.

The chandelier is a $5 garage sale find with shades that we found at Hobby Lobby and we added real candle sleeves.

There is an English mahogany table that COULD have leaves if we ever had them made. Four Empire chairs that were family pieces.

The citrus plants live there in the winter as well as the jasmine and the clivia which is a year round resident.

We took one of the dining room windows and made it into a door. There is good flow from breakfast room to kitchen.

And an 1870s ebony sideboard which holds tea things.

The room leads out to the garden and is where we eat breakfast every morning, often lunch and usually dinner. It is the place where I take afternoon tea the most.

I love looking out at the herb beds, the birds feeding and the rain falling or the snow gently covering the herbs with a white blanket.

It's a small room 10 x 14 and often people think we enclosed a porch rather than having made a whole new room! And that really was our intention.

I would love for it to be bigger -- like double, but it wouldn't look right and scale is really important when you add something on to a house.

One of my favorite rooms in our house is the guest bedroom. As you can see, it has a very large, shuttered window which overlooks the shaded yard and retaining wall. Because the front of our lot is wooded AND is an east-facing exposure, we can usually open the shutters without the room getting hot, allowing for lots of natural light.

Linderhoff- LOVE your brick floor. Especially the mix with the antique furniture.

I went into a house yesterday and the owners had all kinds of mixed tile on their floors. A mosaic of small tiles when you walked in the door, brick in one room and travertine in another...It didnt "match", but it looked good...Does that make sense?

My favorite room is the Living/Dining combo room. It's like my comfy space, although it doesn't look like this lately with my brother and his son sleeping there for now. I've got a twin bed and fold away sofa also in here till they can get a place of their own. It's a full house.

My favorite room is my kitchen/dining room. It is decorated in prim/country theme and I just love it. It is still a work in progress...new house...but I'm getting it there. Just in time to decorate for fall.

Here is a little peek inside.

Welcome!
My favorite room seems to change with the seasons. During the summer we love our screened porch / terrace or the sitting area in our garden: those outdoor rooms. Smile. We have an abundance of wild life and we enjoy spending our evening hours watching the deer feed and play.
When the weather gets colder my favorite room is our LR / DR. We have a large granite fireplace, that welcomes us in, with or without a fire burning.

I am sorry I am unable to post pictures at this time.
