Wow, where is everybody? I found this at GdWl the week before Christmas!! I didn't start collecting the Hallmark Nostalgic House Series until the early 90's, so to find the very first ornament in the series was a real score!! This is the Victorian Dollhouse, # 1 in the series. The box is not in perfect condition, but the ornament is! The price tag was $1.99, but seniors get a 15% discount and then I belong to Club Blue which is a GdWl frequent customer card so got another 20% discount!! That took the price to $1.35 and then Club Blue had given me a $5 gift card for my birthday! Can you say "Happy Dance?" WooHoo!!!

I spent some of my Christmas gift money at a local shop (buying local is good) and got these for $25, Amazon has them for $29. It was NOT a great deal as far as money goes, BUT... I had packed my measuring cups at one point somewhere in a box when I was packing up the Virginia house.... CAN'T find them. I thought I would treat myself to a GOOD SET of measuring cups this time since they will have a home here for a very long time.
I also got a great silicone bowl scraper for cleaning the last bit of batter out of a bowl, and some silicone little poached egg pouches, and if I like them I will get two more. They are sold in sets of two.
I had my eye on a few more things in that gourmet kitchen gadget shop! I will just have to go back and get a few more things now that I have a nice home for them (the refurbished Armoire)! Happy me!!! This message has been edited. Last edited by: Mary Ruth,

Wow - I did not think of it being the "last" MMF for the year!
I found this pair of prints at the FM yesterday and just fell in love as the little birdies are so sweet. But more importantly - to all here, have a safe and Happy New Year!
A flea market find -- I love footstools and once were told that these little guys were really "tuffets" -- it's got iron feet and a needlepoint top -- I'm not sure of it's age but it does look really good in front of this chair in our bedroom.
Oh, and it was on sale -- 40% off so it was only $30!
A Christmas gift from DH -- it's old and I've got a few pieces in this pattern -- dates to the mid 1800s -- and it's a common pattern -- you see it a lot.
(It makes up for my present with a plug also from DH)
JC -- those are darling prints. Of course, I love anything with birds!
CC -- don't you love when you find a real score -- especially if it is a steal of a deal like yours! We have a few Hallmark ornaments dating mostly from the early to mid 80s.
MR -- it is always good to shop local! It's good to support local businesses! We try very hard to do so in our community.
I finally have a free moment to check in and it's almost Tuesday. Happy New Year to all!!! Candy, that's a great find for your collection. Mary Ruth, I love sturdy measuring cups. Will those sit flat without falling back toward the handle? That's the type that I would like to find. Junk Collector, those prints are really lovely. They remind me that spring is on the way. Linderhof, as always, I love your blue and white finds. The tuffet is pretty cute, too. You would think with Christmas only a few days ago that I would have lots to show, but my present this year was the opportunity to buy fabric to recover my sofas. I can't wait to start looking at options. I did buy two things at after-Christmas sales, but I'll have to wait to post pictures until I'm home.
Gracie, YES they stand on their own, I tested them first before buying! AND they can be used to heat or melt chocolate or butter. I also loved the small spout on the side so that if you do melt butter, you can pour it slowly in a small stream. I liked that, they had a few sets, and this one had those features that the others did not. The round holding bracket opens and they come apart easily too, each one standing on it's own. Also the markings are deeply engraved to show up well. The 1/4 cup has the 1/2 way mark with a line and shows 1/8 The One cup one has the 3/4 cup marked with a line. edited to add: just checked and all the cups have another smaller measurement also marked on the inside of the cups.

Once again, you ladies have scored big. Junk Collector, the prints are beautiful with lovely tones; Linderhof, once again you hit it big with your blue platter- doesn't matter it's a common print- the color and shading make it. More blue for your collection and love your little footstool/ tuffet. Mary Ruth, great measuring cups. Am anxious to hear how silicone poachers will work.

These beauties arrived in the mail today. Anthropologie pulls I'm going to try out in my kitchen. Have had one installed for over a week now and it seems to be a good choice.

Mary Ruth, thanks for the confirmation that the measuring cups you found can stand alone. Now, if you could just find some non-plastic measuring spoons that would not tip back, I would be so happy!
