Are kitchen island stools normally counterstools or bar stools? I'm drawing a blank?

It depends on the height of the counter where they are going. Mine are countertop, yet my parent's are bar.

The seats of counter stools are 24" tall for a 36" high standard kitchen counter, and bar stools are 30" tall for a 40"-42" high bar.
