Cannele molds -- copper -- really pricey -- $20 up each -- found these three at TJ Maxx for $10 total!!! Would have liked to have found another one or two packages!!!!

If anyone goes to TJ Maxx and find these, buy them for me, I'll be happy to pay you for them and the postage it takes to get them to me!!!

I've wanted them "forever"!!! But they were too pricey. Now I can make the special little cakes but alas, only 3 at a time!

Love this little ice bucket! So "Downton Abbey"! Complete with tongs -- would be a great wine cooler for a small half bottle of white wine as well!

It was pricier -- $25

But worth it, I think!

Wow Martha, you really did get a haul. All of your items are so unique I can't decide what I like best. Really, really great pieces.

Have you asked TJMaxx to call their other stores to see if they have them?

Martha, your magazine rack is wonderful. You may already know the history of the "Canterbury" as we call them in England. They were originally used to hold sheet music. I don't know the age of yours but the antique versions fetch a good sum of money.

I swear, Linderhof, you find the best things EVER!!! I love each and every one of your finds.

My find this weekend was Pottery Barn Carson plates. They were available during the holidays for $10.25 per plate. I convinced myself that I absolutely did not need any more plaid plates even though I loved the soft coloring on these. Even today, the plates are selling for $6.25 each online at PB and for much more on eBay. I happened to be in PB to return an item that I received damaged and noticed that the store had the Carson plates on sale for $4.50 per plate. Well, that seemed like a pretty good bargain, so I picked up eight. When I checked out, the plates were actually $2.57 per plate! So, even with tax, I got eight plates for under $25! I was thrilled.

You're right, Skyler, I probably would have felt a little gypped if I had paid full price which is another reason that I generally don't go to after-Christmas sales. I don't want to see how much I could have saved had I taken a risk and waited...LOL!

Always1StepBehind, you found a good bargain. I think I want to go to work at a Ralph Lauren outlet store so that I can get first pick of the merchandise AND an employee discount.

Jackierenette, I'll bet you will really enjoy your finds once you get them hung. Good bargain hunting.

Martha, you do find amazing items!
Gracie, pretty plates and great price.
A1SB,love the animal wallet. I "always"
love animal prints, LOL
Jackie, I would have bought those prints too!

I won an auction on Goodwill online for this miniature tea set.
I already have the mini book and a larger one called "Memories of Christmas Tea" (or something like that, it is packed away and I don't want to dig it out just to see the title, LOL) I also own the cup and saucer and kept the tin that the tea came in so I create a vignette at Christmas using my items and this mini set will be added to it next Christmas.
I paid $9, which is quite a bit less than it is listed for at Replace*ments Ltd. WooHoo!

TTFN,
Candy

I actually have "finds" this week! The end tables in the LR were bugging me since they were made for today's modern furniture and not our smaller scale stuff. I found the perfect thing on CL. We had to go to Memphis to get them, but it was worth it. They're in fabulous condition. Now we can return the giant ones we were "furniture-sitting" to our friends who are "furniture-sitting" a bunch of our stuff that we don't have the space for.

So, here's our end table find along with my mom's old sofa and the lamps from my step dad who passed away, so they're special. The lady that the tables belonged to is dying of cancer and she bought the tables when she was setting up house in 1958, so they're kind of special too.

Now I can work on putting together a room that works. Smile

Martha,
That small watercolor is wonderful!
plant stand is precious, love that style.
Never can have too many magazine racks to hold our inspirational editions, especially one as special as that one!
Great molds at a wonderful price!
You STOLE that Portugese copper pan!
The sp centerpiece is so precious and the plate edge helps to contain droppings from falling off the table.
OH that little ice bucket is so precious!!! AND so worth the price! I think is my favorite of your finds.
OMG, I would LOVE to follow you on one of your treasure hunts!!!

Gracie, I love those plates! BOY did you ever get a GREAT price!!!

Always,
I LOVE anything RL! That is a great look and size too! Good catch!

jackierenette,
Nice prints, don't you just love it when you find something you love for a great deal?

Christmas Candy,
What cute cups come with that set! Congrats for winning the auction! You mean there is still 'room' at your house for more Christmas decor?

Christie,
I am glad you found what you love, I have a special affection for anything Duncan Phyfe and that period of style. They look to be in great condition too.

Christie, your end tables were a super find and look great with the sofa and lamps. They have obviously been loved and cared for and I'm sure the owner was glad they were going to a good home!

MR, well...it is a miniature set, LOL!! Actually, since every horizontal surface has something Christmas, I have been hanging things from the ceiling, LOL!!
By that, I mean the little Mark Roberts fairies, oversized decorated balls, and oversized peppermint candies that hang in the kitchen since it is all peppermint and gingerbread.
The large Mark Roberts fairy is too big to hang and he sits in the small decorated rocker in my living room, but my 16 mon. old DGD was quite annoyed that he was in "her" rocker and promptly yanked him out of there so she could sit and rock in it!

TTFN,
Candy

Martha, my favorite is your plant stand.
Graciepj - great deal on your plates! Glad you got what you wanted and what a great price!
Always - 75% off is always a good deal.
jackierenette-pretty pictures. My parents had a similar mill print when I was growing up.
ChristmasCandy-I am good at buying on eBay, not so good at selling on there! Great fun set for you.
Bella - I love your tables. My MIL offered me her "telephone table" that was similar shape and I thought, no we don't have an old phone like that. I never thought to turn it this way and use it as an end table! Darn. Looks lovely in your room!

Dacia-we have a phone bench that I picked up when I was stationed in England. It's probably different than the one your MIL had and although we do have old phones to put on it, we use it for the hall lamp. The space below it has turned into a filing cabinet due to lack of space in the house and the long drawer is storage for the gazillion photos from pre-digital camera times and the seat is one of the cats favorite napping places. It comes in pretty handy. Smile

What a great use for that piece. I'd love to have something like that in my entry.

Thanks Cocok -- TJ Maxx sometimes has "weird" things on it's closeout racks that I've never seen regular price in the store!

Last year it was Agraria potpourris (http://www.agrariahome.com/bitter-orange) -- only saw a few of them after Christmas marked down -- NEVER saw them before and I ALWAYS check the potpourri and candle aisle (and I've never seen them again)

This year, I guess it is these copper molds!

So take what you can get and be ever vigilant after Christmas for you may find some expensive treasure really cheap!

I've not had time to chat but did manage to pop in to have a look-see at the goodies this week. Great finds again! LOVE the plant stand and Bella's tables. Those are to die for! The gossip bench is beautiful too.

A week or two ago I found this beat up old cognac box for just a little cash out of pocket. Had no real plans for it and stuck it by the kitchen door next to the wine fridge.

Beau's Rose, LOVE your new avatar photo!

junk collector,
Love the cognac box! Great woodtone on it!
OH wow AND a place to 'plop' your bag, gotta love that second surprising use!

I am in the process of creating a 'plopping' station near the back door, we have one by the front door, but I use both regularly, so need a place to put things down and put them before leaving the house so I do not forget anything.

GREAT finds!!!

Not at all how I thought it would be used! We were thinking of just breaking it apart for use as graphic "signs". LOL I think that I'll pick up some tiny bun feet to lift it off the floor though. The wood on that end is lousy anyway so no worries of damage.
