Here are some pics of DD's log cabin vacation home. She takes time to do things, buys at auctions and yard sales. They have owned this four years and improve it slowly. i.e. stone work on fireplace just finished.
Mary Ann, I bought that shearling for them. Froo, she and I found the rug together here in Portland at a rug store. She got a good deal.
DSIL especially loves this place and spends most weekends here. Strings she does decorate for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. In fact one of DSIL's "honey do" items was to bring the fake Xmas tree up from the basement.
They are near Tanglewood and Stockbridge plus lots of other interesting small towns. Lots to explore and do sporting activities.
Here is the Thanksgiving table in the process of being set. DD worked for many years as a stylist for Neiman Marcus. This message has been edited. Last edited by: lady of shallot,
"First, there is the bare beauty of the logs themselves with their long lines and firm curves. Then there is the open charm felt of the structural features which are not hidden under plaster and ornament, but are clearly revealed, a charm felt in Japanese architecture." -- Gustav Stickley
What a delightful, charming and cozy cabin. Her Thanksgiving table is beautiful and in keeping with its surroundings. Love those dishes!! Looks like a great geataway where you can relax and unwind from the stress of work and the city.
