Does anyone else read Lines from Linderhof, the blog by our own Martha Scott? I just read it and wondered if shen Sarah, Andy and Lucy left after Christmas whether she cried. I certainly had tears in my eyes.

For those of us who are not blessed with grandchildren, I want to express my appreciation to all of you who share your grandchildren. Rita even shares how she decorates the room in her house set aside for her granddaughter. THANK YOU.

Lucy is adorable and the picture of Dolly giving her a big kiss was absolutely precious.

Martha's blog inspires me to do better in making a home.
I wonder if the rest of you are as "fixy" as she is or if she provides a little impetus and motivation for YOU to do better.

I follow her blog and thoroughly enjoy it. She makes a house into a true home. It's about the life lived inside those beautiful walls that makes it meaningful. Making things "pretty" only gets you so far emotionally. It's the love and life lived and shared that brings fulfillment and peace. Martha does it well.

I do love my granddaughter. I enjoy sharing that important and meaningful part of my life. I'm glad you enjoy hearing about that aspect of life. I'm expecting a grandson in early February. Life is really good for our family.

I also enjoy hearing about other members grandchildren. Kindness and sharing is a blessing.

Hope you have a Happy New Year Lu!

I did not know she had a blog.
I'm still not sure what is the purpose of a blog??
How are they different from posting on a forum?

But, that being said, I'll have to check it out.

I read her blog fairly regularly and it inspires me to do more than I sometime do. I marvel at her meals- she makes everything seem effortless. Love her home style and personally covet some of her blue and white pieces. She's one person from the this board that I would love to meet in person. A big thanks to Martha for all her inspiration she provides.

Candy, there is info on the definition and purpose of a blog here:

Most blogs are for entertainment or education. I look at a number of home decor blogs and often only look at the pictures and don't read much as I am looking for inspiration and entertainment only.

Some blogs make a lot of money thru advertising. Reported earnings can be in the millions yearly.

Gosh, thank you all -- I am blushing from your kind comments!

To answer the "why blog" question -- I have written a weekly column in our local newspaper for 17 years and almost 5 years ago made the jump to include a blog -- it was my column -- shorter -- and with pictures! (Although now my column DOES include pictures)

I just enjoy sharing which is why I do it . . . and I don't accept advertising --
