It has been very hot here and leaving the house just did not appeal to me today. So....

I finally finished painting the Foyer!!!! It looks so much better. Just a plain old beige (BM Malton - same as LR), but just having a clean fresh coat is such an improvement. Once it is dry, we'll hang the beautiful fleur de lis shelf and add some artwork and crockery. We hope to include new flooring in that area when the kitchen is completed this summer/fall.

Can't believe it took this long to motivate, so I'm setting a goal of completing the long hall wall this coming week.

So I'm curious, what did all y'all do today?

Got some bruises from playing with the grandkids, helped catch a camelion, went grocery shopping with my DIL, tried to take a nap, but failed, changed some diapers, took a walk w/ the family, dead headed some lilies, connected w/ long distance family and friends on the phone, kissed the baby a zillion times...:P

I got my back porch cleaned!!! YEAH!!!! Of course today it's going to be 90 and too hot to be out there, but the cats are enjoying a clean place this morning. I'll get out there in a bit this morning for breakfast. I'm waiting for the pillows to dry and the rag rug to dry and then it'll all be clean!!

We leveled some sand and put our above ground pool up. Now that's done, we can get back to the nightmare of our bathroom.

JC, there is nothing like a fresh coat of paint to rejuvenate a space. I bet it looks fantastic. I love to paint...that's not work to me, it's therapy. I painted last weekend!

As for me yesterday, I'm at our lake place. We have a house full of guests. Family and friends. I started the morning cooking a big breakfast, cleaned the kitchen, then began the prep for dinner. We had fresh smoked baby back ribs, baked beans, cole slaw, with mac and cheese. In between the cooking, I managed to spend time in the sun with everyone, do some reading, and riding on the wave runner. The night ended with a sunset pontoon ride and a fire in the firepit on the dock with everyone roasting s'mores. This is what is so fun about our lake place. It's a lot of work for dh and me, but sharing it with all our family and friends makes all the work worthwhile. My daughter is visiting from Florida and leaves this afternoon. I've thoroughly enjoyed our time together, plus my sweet granddaughter is here with us this weekend too with my son and his wife. Family is precious!!

Froo, I can so relate to your day. I know it's a good kind of tired. But if you are like me, you'll have to go home to get some much needed rest. I'll be leaving for home later this evening. I'll rest then. Right now, I'm watching my grandbaby as she is swinging to get herself to sleep.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend in some small way.

Well since you asked, I showered, made the bed, walked the dog, did two loads of laundry and oh yea, I painted the bedroom. Can't move today...may have over done it a bit...

My days like the one Rita And Catie had; are behind me . . . I remember painting the back hall once thinking I would still have time to catch a movie. . . when it actually took me all day!

However I had a good day. DH & I made our weekly transfer station run and I was thrilled to find a bed guard my friend needs for a visiting grandchild. Then I cooked for our expected guests DD and DGS. . . mac and cheese, meat loaf, and home made shortcake.

They arrived right on time at 4:30 and we hung out, ran to GW for 2 costume pieces for his upcoming movie (had good luck) ate, watched his two latest films. . . one a documentary on veterans and one filmed completely in 24 hrs for a contest (both about 15 min long)

They left with 2 furniture pieces I gave DD (yay!) for a seminar at DD's alma mater on applying for college. She said they might come back here to spend the night if she doesn't like their dorm room accommodations!

Hi JC,

Nothing like a fresh coat of paint! I have been helping DD with her new appt. We managed a trip to two different Targets to secure enough curtain panels and the rods.

Another trip to lowes for tools and trash can. Oh our day included stops at 3 eating places along our journey. LOL.

Rods are installed in between lots of girl giggles.

Lots of FUN!
