Happy Monday decorating friends! Let's share pictures or talk about any recent or favorite treasure you have found. We always love to hear prices if you want to share.

No shopping for me but I'm still working on my Thanksgiving mantle.

Okay, let's share Smile

Happy Monday!
So happy to see your MMF's post, thank you Skyler!

MY FIND:
While moving things around the garage, at least a few nice things were found instead of just creating messes!
I had bought this box ($28) of very old painter's box about 10 yrs ago. It had a wood grain tool (curved heads with rubber stamp-like treads to create graining, and some other brushes and items, in a home made box, about 20 items or so) I no longer have the box nor the tools, but kept a few items, one being this wax brush. It is from around 1900's, in great shape and almost too beautiful to use (looks well taken care of, and never used, or cleaned really well)! It is horsehair vulcanized into rubber. I love the size of it, as you can see it is 12" long. I want to use this brush to apply wax, I do not want to use it for paint since I thing Latex residue will just ruin it.
It has a great feel to it and good light weight. I now display it on my pantry window!

The photo does not really show that the bristles are in a round shaped casing. I will have to take another photo.

Found this listing on eBay and $11 shipping!

It is listed as a paintbrush. Though when reviewing wax brushes, this seemed more the use I would make of it.

And mine has no paint nor wax residue on it.

Hi Mary Ruth! What a neat little treasure you have. Nice to hear it's in great shape and you can put it to good use. Isn't it nice when we rediscover goodies we forgot we have?

My bowl (and my brothers) as children -- our cereal bowls! Returned to me by my ex sister-in-law -- and how she had them in the first place I'm not sure!

And lastly, a bowl that belonged to my grandmother (and perhaps her mother) -- again from ex SIL -- and not sure how she got it -- but glad to have it back.

I think the apples are great for this time of year!

Skyler,
Thanks, it was wonderful to find it wrapped in paper in the bottom of a box! I knew I had it but could not figure out where to look for it. I have a tool box set up now where I relocate my 'things' to. So nice to have them all in one place for me to find easily!

Linderhof,
My first impression of your new runner was 'I wonder if she would sell that' (to me!!!) BEAUTIFUL work on that piece! GREAT find!!!

I remember seeing those bowls in a few antique shops, so wonderful for you to have them back! I like the bowl too, no matter how she got them, I am so happy for you that you NOW have them back!

I have my grandmother's sugar and creamer and butter dish, I got it from 'round the bend' type method, no matter it is in my care now.

Martha, your runner is beautiful. The detail is wonderful. I wonder how old it is.

Love the bowls too. Who wouldn't want a bowl of cereal in them Smile I'm glad you have them back too. I bet they make you smile.

Good morning, Skyler, and thank you for starting the thread. So many posters have completely disappeared from these message boards. I look forward to seeing those who visit on Mondays.

Mary Ruth, how wonderful to discover items you knew you had, but couldn't locate and a useful item at that.

Linderhof, the runner is beautiful. It's strange how things get dispersed throughout a family, isn't it? How nice that your relatives passed those bowls back to you rather than disposing of them.

Tho I always read and enjoy Skylers MMF I've not had anything to share, until now- Scored a find on Craigslist this weekend. It's a server chest which is now residing in my utility room until I clean it up and possible repaint. Plan to use it adjacent to our DA to hold liquor supply, store ice buckets and cocktail napkinsin one location. Think I may have to add pictures separately.

Hi Skyler,

Thanks for the MMF thread. Hope you are starting to get a change of weather and a bit of Fall.

Mary Ruth, Such fun to re-find our treasures. Can you imagine the projects that brush completed with it's handler? Good luck with your new ones too.

Martha, A lovely piece of linen that your found. Those bowls were just meant to come back to you no matter the reason. The memories are precious!

Good Luck with your finds Everyone!

Linderhof, beautiful linen runner and so glad your bowls found their way home!

I finally found a female bust in a TS for $7.49!
WooHoo!!
I have been looking for one ever since I saw a decorated one by Judith on RMS several yrs ago.
She is going to get decorated for many holidays.

MamaSpoon, that is a great server! We were posting at the same time. I was playing golf this afternoon too!

Here is my new decoration in her Halloween finery:

I'm very excited as she is in perfect shape, no chips or anything wrong with her that I could find.

Thanks Skyler for posting the thread. I really enjoy it.

Christmas Candy,
I will let Judith know you mentioned her! She is busy remodeling her home. I moved away from her (she lives in Virginia) and I moved to Florida! We keep in touch though.
Her Blog: She has not posted for a while, but the photo of the decorated lady bust is on her blog Sweet Designs!

Mary Ruth,
Thank you for the link. I had not seen anything by Judith for a long time and kind of wondered what had happened to her.

That server looks so useful, Mamaspoon. I know you will enjoy it.

Cute bust, Candy. I have a resin one. I never thought about decorating her for the holidays, but it's an idea. Mine's a funny rust color, though. I might have to paint her to make her fit in with my decor.

Gracie, it's my pleasure to start MMFSmile You're right, we have lost a lot of posters but it's great when they stop by on Monday.

YAY Mamaspoon gets to play this week! Nice find too. The server is very nice looking and great storage too. When should we be over for the first party???? Thanks for joining in this week.

JC, oh boy, a new project to watch. I bet you're looking out the window every day waiting for those cabinets. Enjoy your new watches too.

hiya Beau's Rose. Yes, thankfully we are getting some Fall weather. It's so nice to have the heat leave.

Christmas Candy, what a great bust. I absolutely love how you dressed her. So clever and amusing. You are going to have so much fun with her throughout the holidays.

MR, great brush in great shape too.

Martha, I love old linens. So nice to have something from your childhood too, cute bowls.

mamaspoon, great server, lots of space for storage, which is always good.

CC, that is a good looking bust. Some of them look angry, she looks pensive. I have Diana and she has gotten dressed up for halloween before too.

No finds for me this week. Right now, I am trying to buy Christmas gifts.
