For DH's birthday this year, I had purchased two old-time and clearly well used branding irons - one with his initial and one with mine (we're in the wild wild west so this is a rather charming decor item). However, I am having a hard time hanging the two pieces. My plan was to hang each directly from a hook, but this won't work for one iron (for more than one reason). Should I a) add a loop of wire or an extra ring to the iron so that it hangs (both will then hang straight up and down) or b) buy two additional hooks and hang each iron horizontally? These are HEAVY DUTY items and the hooks will need to be anchored, so I want to get it right the first time around!
I'm going to make a quick run back to Hobby Lobby to buy two more hooks, but what do you think? Straight up and down or horizontal? This message has been edited. Last edited by: junk collector,

And the hooks from HL. Hook will not fit through the loop on the shorter iron, so will either need to rig it up or ???? These were the best (and best looking) hooks I could find. Pretty and yet functional. I'm running to HL now before it closes. This message has been edited. Last edited by: junk collector,

How about laying each one horizontally across two hooks? You could put the longer one on the bottom with the shorter one center above it.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Graciepj,

WHOOPS! I made a big ol' typo - it should have read "horizontal" not vertical.
Thank you Gracie for restating it (and correction has been made)! It has been a long week...This message has been edited. Last edited by: junk collector,

Those are clever decorating items. Two ideas come to mind for your brands.
What about curtain rods brackets? Similar to these or the "j" shapes.
OR a "U" shaped pipe holder piece that is found in the plumbing/piping section of the hardware stores.
Good luck!

Can you find an eye hook for the one without the loop on top? that way you could slip the handle into the eyehook and use one of those that you have for the other end.
