Remember when y'all helped me w our basement project this past fall? Well, here's a pic of the bathroom so far. It needs some accessorizing and would welcome any and all ideas.

I especially could use some suggestions re: towel bars and placement. Since we had 2 guests over Thxgiving, I'd like to have at least 2 places to hang 2 wet bath towels to dry. The floor heating thermostat was put in the most ridiculous place on the wall where I want to put the towel rods.

Would two large towel rods across that back wall look ok? How would you place them? I'm wondering if I could place them so the towels would cover up the thermostat if the rods stick out enough.

Would love for pics and/or websites for rod style recommendations. We have limited shopping options here.

boo, DH seems to think it can't be moved easily. It's connected to wires, etc. for electric floor heating. do you really think it could be moved easily? Grrrr:

Nice BR Nance. Quick question - is your floor tile or sheet vinyl/linoleum?

Many upscale hotels have hooks on the back of the door for large, used shower towels. This way you will have more room for your washcloths and regular towels.
And yes, I think you can creatively "hide" the offending thermostat which seems a better plan than actually changing it - wires and all.
It would also be nice to add a small picture on the wall if there happened to be room for one to make it more homey.

Your bathroom is very lovely!!! I really like the colors.

We have a double towel bar in one bathroom. The rods are attached to one set of brackets, one rod over the other.

In another bathroom I used three matching robe hooks in a row that can be used for towels or robes, etc. I find it so annoying to have too few towel bars in a bathroom. I especially want a place to hang my robe or nightgown!

I've always been confused by people suggesting covering up a thermostat with something. Don't thermostats work based on the temperature of the surrounding air? If it is covered up how can it work properly? I saw an episode of Get it Sold where she covered the thermostat with a picture on hinges. Made no sense to me. Hope someone can explain where I am on the wrong track here.

Beautiful bathroom. As previously suggested, I would put a rack on the wall with the thermostat and hooks on the back of the door. Works great for me in my one bath home.

Arepo, I have a hook on one of my bathroom doors. I usually find the towels don't dry very quickly. I like to spread them out on a bar if I can. I could also run down there and replace with dry towels while my guests weren't looking.
Would one of these (pic below) work on that back wall? I could hang the towels so that it covers the thermostat. I'm thinking I should be able to hang 2 bath towels to dry on the double rods.
I also found an "over the door" bar, but not sure if it would scratch the door. It would offer more space to spread out bath towels if it would hold them.
We could ultimately have 4 adults staying with us on occasion.

My Life: This thermostat regulates floor heating not air heating, so it wouldn't matter if it's covered up. I have a throw rug on the tile now, so don't even have to use the floor heating yet. This is a guest bathroom in our basement.
Here's the towel bars I found. The top of the thermostat is 48" Any opinions which way to go?

I like the first towel rack the best...but how much room do you have by the stool? Will the towel rack stick out too far? Also I always liked towels close to the shower so it can be grabbed without walking wet across the floor. So I would put the rack closer to the shower rather than to the center of the wall. Same way with the bathroom sink...who wants to wash their hands and drip across the room to the towel. Things to think of, for sure. I like robe hooks on the back of bathroom doors...not especially for towels but for robes, gowns or clean clothes to be put on after your bath.
