Please suggest an armoire (I know....) for this bed and nitestands Sign In/Join

At a total standstill with our bedroom. We bought this bed and 2 nightstands. The finish is very textured - almost like a scraped hardwood floor. Really love them. The headboard is massive 68" high. The problem is I do not like to see the TV out in the bedroom, so I want to get an armoire. I know they are not the most popular item now, but it will work great for us. I have been looking online at different manufacturers and in consignment and thrift shops. I just don't know the style to look at. Most are very traditional and don't seem to blend well. I think the height should be 82-86", because the borrowed piece we have in their now is 79" and looks small and out of scale with the rest of the room.

All suggestions gratefully appreciated. Thank you.

P.S. The picture is not ours. It is from a catalog. Just wanted to show the furniture.

Would you be interested in a painted armoire, instead of a stained one? I think a painted one would look fantastic.

Cayo, what fabulous furniture. Looks like a stylized fusion of Chinese (the nightstand) and Japanese (clean lines and rustic texture).

These media cabinets and armoires from Room & Board might fit the bill:

Pier One has this one

World market had these in Oriental style:

You can do a base cabinet and have a double door cabinet on top (secured) and baskets and rice baskets at top for vignette.

BEAUTIFUL bedroom set! LOVE it, you got a great find!

Also check CL for Amoires, since a lot of people are not keeping them because they take up a lot of room. And if your room is small, you will notice how it jets out in the room with that depth.

This one I found that is Oriental, shows how a color instead of texture and wood color can really add a great accent to the room. You can look for an Armoire with simple lines, two full doors, or two upper doors and drawers below.

Here is a craftsman Armoire I had in my other house, this is a set up photo, we later added antique leather luggage on top, but can't find that photo.

By adding something tall at the top, then you are not required to get the Armoire that tall.

Here is an example, a shorter (about 6' tall) that can be mounted on top of a base media cabinet to hide the TV, the two together can be very tall, make sure it is secured if you do this and secure top to the wall as well so avoid tipping.

Got this photo off our Craigslist in my area for only $75
And it can be painted any color!
I am sure that there are pieces in your area you can use to become creative!

I too like the idea of a painted armoire in a simple design. I was thinking black if it suits your decor. No need to match woods or even try to come close to this handsome set. A unique piece would compliment it and be more interesting anyway. Just use more of the armoire color around the room to tie everything together.
