My style is traditional with shabby-chic(not too feminine and no pink flowers)/country(not rustic) accessories if that makes any sense??? I would like a valance for our bathroom window that reflects this, but I don't know what to even be looking for. I listed the items I want to use in the bathroom decor, maybe it'll help anyone steer me the right direction.
http://ourvintagehomelove.blog...-vintage-ladder.html I want hubby to make me this ladder to lean against the wall.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-CA...&hash=item43b7d9386b I have this to hang on the wall above the tub.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintag...&hash=item3f21432e58 I want a set like this also or just the pitcher with flowers in it.
Hopefully this gives you an idea of me. I was thinking maybe a lace valance? TIA

Hi mountainbeach.I like the items you have picked out.I have 2 keys simular to the one you like.I can see your design style.I do think a lacey valance will look great. But it may look too girly.Maybe a fancy valance,I dont know the names of them. But have saw some memembers post pics of some they made.Beautiful they were.

So you & your DH will be using this bath together? What colors are on the walls, towels, ect.Maybe a color from those to blend in and a print, not flowery thou. How big is the window? Can a ballon shade curtain work?
I'm just throwing ideas out there.Good luck.

I like the things you want to decorate with. I would think almost anything your heart desires would work, taking into consideration the other colors used. There's lace, eyelet, linen fabrics. Floral, stripe, toile, damask patterns. You could even try something different, funky, unique. Chevron pattern is hot right now.

I don't know, but I thought of a nice stripe with the other pieces you are using. Like these from Pottery Barn.

I agree with everything suggested- one of my first thoughts was either lace or toile. But (I can't believe I'm suggesting this!) there would prbably be some contemporary patterns out there that would look great with these items too.

Hi MB,

Love the items you have chosen for inspiration and direction for the bath. You have lots of options for the WT too. What size is your window? A couple of thoughts for you.

Use the painter's cloth for fabric and add some great trim ribbon or banding for accent. A simple blind or valance would look good or even a cornice type covering.

One of my favorite books for inspiration is The Encyclopedia of Window Fashions by Charles T Randall. Simple versions are easier to create or copy of course.

Lots of room to be creative for the WT since there is usually one window to cover.
