Where do you go for kitchen inspiration? I know there are several good sites, but I can't find the posts that list them.

When I first started dreaming up my kitchen I went to the local building supply companies and asked for catalogs of each line of cabinetry they sold. Not only were many of the pics inspirational, I found great info on options / sizes for what I might want behind all the gorgeous wood. From there I narrowed my focus and went online. After all of the researching we had our kitchen custom done to suit both our needs and the style of our home, but I was able to be very specific as to heights, depths and widths of cabinets, drawers, etc.

Have fun!

Here is my cabinet maker's site:
www.adamsfinefurniture.com (the front page has galleries. On the kitchens page, the one with the HUGE green island is a kitchen I designed for one of my clients. It used to be black and white and gray contemporary! Each kitchen shown has it's own gallery.)

Also, each major kitchen company has their own website. Kraftmaid, Thomasville, Kitchen Kraft, Woodmode, etc.

You can look at the ads in the back of decorating magazines for the kitchen companies. There are usually several of them listed. Check out their websites.

Also, don't forget to check out Rate my Space. Go to kitchens, and then go to Highest Rated. There are some very nice kitchens on there.

Maine Lady--
That is exactly the same thing I did. I wanted to design my own kitchen to suit us before I started getting confused by someone else's (designer or not) ideas. Using those catalogs and the sizes within I was able to get things laid out like I thought would be best for us and look nice too. Then I did the research about the differences between stock and custom so I could put my ideas in the software. I was able to take a really good set of mock ups to the local custom cabinetmaker and then let him add his thoughts. He had some great suggestions--which did not confuse me and my desires, because I had already got what my heart desired down on paper.

Of course we still have some time and I'm still thinking and looking at pics just in case I need to tweek something before I give him my final draft.

Lots of work, but wasn't it fun?!
