I ordered flooring from a local business 3 weeks ago this coming Tues. I called last Tues.(2 weeks from order date) and an employee said it's due in anyday, haven't heard anything since. Am I being too impatient and how long would you give them? I've never ordered flooring before so maybe this is normal? Thanks
I am sorry for your delay and can't really relate as we bought our hardwood flooring on the spot in the past from Lumber Liquidators. Are you talking wood, carpet, or tile flooring? I'd say keep calling them and do speak to a manager to pinpoint the due date.

I would say a month -- and after that I would make daily calls. Unless they give you an explanation as to why it should be longer (a satisfactory explanation -- not just one to keep you from calling!)
It's vinyl sheeting for the bathroom. We did check on vinyl planks from Lowes and they said 2 weeks, so we went with the sheeting from a local business. I'll try to stay calm for another week and 1/2
I have bought cork flooring, ceramic tile, and Duraceramic (all from different companies at different times) all from the same local business, and none of them took over two weeks to arrive. In fact, the cork arrived in less than a week. I think something's wrong.
Froo - our last two flooring projects were ordered thru LL. What kind do you have? We had African Walnut and now we have Brazilian Teak. Love their colors.

When you ordered the flooring do you remember being told that the flooring was available in their warehouse, or did it need to come from the factory?
Many flooring retailers maintain stock locally, and then the orders fill more quickly. If something has to come from the factory your order will take longer to fill. If your order needs to still be produced at the factory it will take longer yet.
Why don't you call the store and ask for the status of your order. They should be able to track exactly where your order is, and let you know more precisely when it should be in. Ask to know if the product has been shipped yet.
