If you are looking for holiday decorating inspiration as I am these slideshows may help.

This is Debbie Travis' home which I hadn't seen for years.

Here's the entire list of slideshows at the magazine:

I like to put things together differently every year altho try not to buy too many more 'things' so like to see different ways others have decorated.

Thanks for the link, Joyluck. I also like to tweak my Christmas look a little bit each year, sometimes just by using items in different rooms or in different ways.

Hi Lucky!! Wave

Thanks for the links. Debbie's home is beautiful.

I love S@H but the subscription is so expensive here. I pick up H&H at Barnes and Noble.

Hope all is well with you.

Gracie, looking forward to seeing pics of your decor.

Annie, all is well here altho my LR is full of boxes of Christmas decor so I have some work to do! I no longer take any magazine subscriptions but do occasionally look at them at the library or buy a single copy.

Annie, Get the digital subscription...much cheaper. I don't like reading magazines on the computer as much as having them in my hand, but it's the only way I can afford the Canadian and British versions that I love.

Thanks Gracie. I didn't even know that was a possibility! I would rather do that than not see them at all.

I use Zinio, but I think there are other apps that might be even better.

Lucky, thank you for the links. I never tire of looking at the decorating talents of others. I, too, will be changing up our decor a little. I won't be purchasing anything new, but have plenty of options packed in the basement to choose from. Inspiration pics always show me something I hadn't considered, but can often emulate.

Design quote of the day:
"An overall design or a specific accessory isn't something you should be talked into. You should fall in love as soon as you see it."
- Dee Simmons, Interiors Southeast: Leading Designers Reveal Their Most Brilliant Spaces

I got the subscription to this Design quote of the day and this was the email quote sent to me this AM. I have unsubscribed to this quote of the day because most of the quotes are not something I am gaining from. BUT this one suits the Christmas decor we are all looking to have this year (any year actually) where we want to absolutely LOVE what we pick and use for decorating our house in a be-loved fashion for the special holidays ahead that are filled with family love, great food and welcomed guests.

I got an idea for doing a dining room Christmas decor. don't know if I will actually do it but I have started assembling some elements.

Idea would be to simply photograph it as I will not be doing any entertaining. Still it is hard to quell those creative ideas!

Sometimes I think what is most enjoyable is figuring out how to achieve a certain look. . . doing the nuts and bolts of how to get it done.

Came back to say about magazines. I no longer want to subscribe to any but our town swap shop often has many choices. Recently I seem to have gotten a lot of decorative painting technique books.

LOS,
I am so envious of your Swap shop!

I LOVE thinking HOW TO achieve a certain look! I think till I get to the part of 'what happens after'... like to the next room and things around it... then let it go. Lots of mind exercises!

I too have been reading art and technique books! Any you don't want (of those books!!!) hint...
