Tho I'm a fan of color, there is no denying the bold drama of black and white. Keep in mind that whites vary greatly. So do blacks for that matter. Adding bits of color to this versatile palette, mixing prints and textures, keeps things interesting. Here are some examples for those who love the idea:

This month's issue of Architectural Digest features a home in New Orleans, done in high-contrast black and white, that I am still swooning over. Not just the decor, but also the architecture: the home of my dreams. Even DH was impressed.
