I have bought some beautiful rod pocket drapes. I would like to hang them with drapery rings. Is this possible? How do I hook the clip to the drapery? Do I pinch it together to replicate a pinch pleated look? Do I hide the clip claw part by attaching to the back of the drapery somehow? Please let me know how this is done. We clipped it just to the top of the drape and it does not stay attached. Thank you.
this was a first for me as well. ( using drapery hooks) I just winged it.. you can see my post for a pic to give you some idea of how i did it good luck [URL=http://boards.hgtv.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1634079532/m/7321097663]
Sweet1, if your clips are not holding your fabric, then you have one of two problems. Either your fabric is too light weight and is not thick enough for the clip, or your clips are too loose. The latter is often the case if you've purchased inexpensive clips. The best griiping clips I've ever used, and I've tried them all, are the Levelor ones at Home Depot and Lowe's.
Do not pinch your fabric together. Simply clip the rings to the top of the panel. The standard application is 7 rings per panel, evenly spaced. Put your panels on the rod, and then run your hand on the backside of the fabric to "push out" the fabric between the rings. This will give you vertical rolls (that mimick pleat folds) in the panel.
You can try to crimp your clips with a pair of pliers, if you aren't up for exchanging them.
Hope this helps.
