Finally got the flooring in the bathroom and it looks different than what I had expected. I'm not about to tell my hubby my feelings so, I'll work with it. It has alot more gray in it that I wasn't expecting, which has thrown my color choices off for paint. My main goal was to make it fresh and cheery looking for the kids but still grownup enough for us adults. We are installing white beadboard on the lower 1/2 of the walls and painting the upper 1/2. Do you think a light shade of grey paint could be used and not be too adult like? I just can't seem to get out of my head that the kids really care what the house looks like (they're boys, ages 3 & 4) My other choice would be Valspar Buff Yellow which is a warm white that looks like a soft buttery yellow on my walls. TIA
It's your house and you should do what pleases and works for you. Know I'm old fashioned, but my kids never had a vote/say in decorating our house, esp when they were 3 or 4 except for their bedrooms. This message has been edited. Last edited by: mamaspoon,

LOL Mamaspoon, believe me..they don't get a say, but I do take into "consideration" that they live here also. I did do their room in a planet theme which turned out nice, but the rest of the house is mine. I just envision our home as a stuffy, dark house that the kids don't want to spend time in if I do what I am drawn to. If I could just get out of that way of thinking...
How about gray walls above the beadboard and a cheery buttery yellow for towels and shower curtain? When gray is deep enough it creates a great backdrop for color. Where you can go wrong is trying to use a soft whimpy gray which just adds a cool pall over a room. Don't be afraid of gray esp. in a bathroom. One of my fav. color combos in both kitchens and baths is B.M. # AC-29 San Antonio Gray which has a khaki undertone paired with white and either yellow or orange. Best of luck.

I just had to post this color because it is GREAT! Thanks for suggesting this color, I have it saved for my new color ideas for my Master Bedroom and bath!
