I need some wrinkle free sheets that are actually wrinkle free. I bought a high thread count sheet from Kohls and they are the softest sheets but unfortunately shows every wrinkle. I know I can't find sheets that never show any wrinkles, but these sheets make my bedding outfit look terrible. I want really crisp sheets, but also soft. Anyone have any luck with sheets? I'd love to buy them from Walmart this time because I have a $50 gift card and that would soften (no pun intended) the blow of high thread count sheets for a king size bed. Any suggestions is very much appreciated!

Sure wish they'd bring back the good ol percale sheets- never had a wrinkle and were crisp. I haven't been sold on all this high thread count business because of how sloppy they come out. If only I had someone come in weekly and iron with the old mangle press..

I have wonderful results with wrinkle free sheets because I line dry them and iron them.

Now admittedly I love to iron and I have the time to iron, but I want to use only 100% cotton or linen sheets and the best way to have them wrinkle free is to do what I do.

Back in my single days when I lived in NYC I sent my sheets out to be laundered.

Oh Mama spoon, I had one of these once till it gave up the ghost. I loved it. Ironing sitting down. I could get a stack of sheets in minutes.

This though is a pretty good second for an "ironing board"

I use Egyptian cotton percale sheets. I get mine at bed bath and beyond. They are the only 100 per cent Egyptian cotton percale weave sheets I can find. Egyptian cotton produces a long fiber which when woven into fabric produces a fine smooth hand. Anyway that is about old fashioned crisp smooth feeling percale. The only way for sheets to be wrinkle free is to iron them. Seems like a big job but you really only have to iron the top edge. (for a fabric to be truly wrinkle free it has to have a significant amount of polyester in it and there is nothing worse than sleeping on polyester. At least to me anyway. Poly doesn't absorb moisture and it is sweaty)

Forgot to say that the brand of sheets I buy is wamsetta.

Yep, that's the only way I have found to keep sheets crisp and wrinkle free. I like ironing also, but have gotten really lazy lately.

How I miss getting my sheets laundered and folded. We had a cleaner in NY and then in DC who both did the most marvelous job on sheets. Pick-up and delivery, to boot. And, the sheets smelled so-o-o-o good. What I wouldn't give to have this service again; it's just not a Texas thang, I am afraid, at least not in my area.

Have you tried the microfiber sheets? I love them and they fit very tight.

Hanging them on the line used to work really well to make them nearly wrinkle free, especially when the breeze was strong.

If I have time, I will iron the pillow cases and the top hem of the sheet, and if you iron them consistently in those spots, eventually the ironing is not as necessary. (Kind of like when we used to iron our jeans leg crease and eventually the crease stayed, even if they were not ironed)

I personally do not like microfiber sheets or cotton/poly just because they tend to pill as they wear...and they are just too hot for sleeping under.

Interesting that someone said that in the old days her percale sheets didn't needed to be ironed. When permanent press sheets came into being, I found that the muslin sheets truly were no iron but I couldn't stand them. Bought percale and ironed them. However, since I moved 7 years ago, I haven't set up the ironing board and don't even know where I put the new Rowenta Iron my husband bought me right before we moved.

Love the the nostalgia of the OLD line dried and hand ironed 100% cotton sheets and starched pillow cases BUT.......
At my age and state of energy, I'm lucky to get the sheets CHANGED....forget ironing sheets and pillow cases. I now use Downey Wrinkle Release Spray ::::::::laughing::::::::::

I'm with you, Love,Lu. There is never going to be a day that I iron my sheets. I just absolutely do not have time for that. And to me it isn't necessary.

Oh I have the time for ironing but no longer have the inclination::::::::::laughing::::::::

Oh I how yearn for the days when I had the energy and inclination to MAKE starch and use it.
