I went out to get the mail and startled a quail and her baby. The baby ran into a corner using that age-old hiding trick of if I can't see you and I pretend not to be here, you won't see me...LOL!

Later, I peeked out and the parent was watching several babies, so I guess a quail family has moved into my courtyard. I thought the pictures might make you smile.

OMG! How cuddly fuzzy wuzzy cute are they!!!!!!

This is the most jealous I've been of any find posted on this board!!!

I hope you continue to see the little family as the chicks grow.

(I should probably mention DH wants a quail "farm" I better not show him this!)

Really cute and we don't have that kind of quail on the prairie -- only bob white!

That made me smile too. You must live on the west coast because those are California quails.

I agree and hope they stay safe. TFS

While we have grouse (somewhat similar to quails) in this area I seldom see them unless they are slowly crossing the road and I have to wait for them. Do hear them more often than see them tho. There are California quails in this province but they are not native but were introduced.

Gracie, they are adorable. I love when the quail visit our yard and they all walk in a line behind mama. I've never seen the babies so small. Thanks for sharing.

Aw, they're so CUTE!

I've never seen a quail before. Pretty bird. Adorable little babies. She doesn't seem camera shy. Smile

OMG! My maternal instincts just went into a full blown red alert!

They are sooooo cute! The Mom is just beautiful too. I love Quail. You are so lucky to have them at your house. Where do you live? (not you actual address...just general location Big Grin)
